Just as I thought the NHS is not keen on having patient reps, I have worked for many hours over many years sitting on committees putting a patient view for what? now we have health watch they want to take over, and it has to be a director well bless me just why does it need to be a director?, I received an email informing me that I am not able to sit on the group even though I am a registered member of health watch but that matters not, I am waiting now to next week to see just where this puts me, it really makes you sick I have attended at no cost to the NHS I have printed out all the papers sent me with the cost of paper and ink being born by me so no cost to the NHS, will the health watch do the same I don't believe so, as a director I think would have expenses, I was a member of the PPI forum and LINk and was allowed to claim mileage and paper and at times I could have drawn the cost of ink, but I only managed it a couple of times, I am insulted and it will take me some time to recover from this.

Canada Floods
It has gone very quiet at the moment BBC news has shown little or nothing about the problems, is this because in the West we seem to expect the authorities to deal with it, is this acceptable? I think that it might be that all Western countries should have a military regiment of soldiers who have a speciality in rescue and should be on standby to go anywhere in the Western world to help out if only providing pop up accommodation for people till they can get back into their houses, I hope the people in Calgary are safe and well and that the damage to property is minimal, after all property can be repaired, but your health is not as easy, take care all of you and I hope all will be better soon.

NHS again
So where do we stand with this new NHS, I was told that doctors new best! they know their patients?, is all this right?, I feel not, the governments paper on health did away with Strategic Health Authorities and local Primary Care Trusts, has this happened? not likely, the PCT is now the Clinical Commissioning Group, and the SHA has now found another name to go by, so in fact we are paying a lot more for the commissioning services but the hospitals are squeezed dry, I can give some idea as to what patients want as I am one and have had to use the NHS many times over the years, what I want and need is nothing more than to be sent to my local hospital to be looked after, I do not want to go to private companies who profess to know what they are doing when in fact they are just making money and laughing all the way to the bank, we as the general public want a local hospital to look after us, they do not want to go all over England to receive treatment, many of us are old and do not travel well so we need to support our local hospital and we need to do everything in our power to keep this needed service.

Floods
No matter where in the world that you happen to live a flood is so dangerous, it is so easy to become lost in the torrent of water, just where dose such a deluge come from and why?, do we actually know?, it just shows that forecasts just might not relate to actual weather conditions that are expected, I am certain of one thing, without a doubt the insurance companies will be looking for every excuse possible not to pay out!!.

Canada / India Floods
We have had this nasty rain in the UK many people being killed and homes destroyed, many still waiting to return to their homes some 18 months later, but that does not help the people of Canada / India, it is not funny being told that you can't go to your home till the authorities say it is OK, just what do you do?, here we open church halls or sports halls, anywhere that keeps people safe, they need help for the trauma that they are going through, in India I saw on the news houses falling into the torrent to be destroyed, they do not have the facilities that the West has, nor do they have a supply of food that is easily available, all I can say is that I pray for you all I hope you recover from this flood and I hope that you all have the help that you are going to need, may your God look over you and keep you safe.

NHS
Well we off again!, mistakes made again, it is bad enough when they do not actually hurt people but to see that babies have died needlessly, there is no Way of justifying these deaths, the people who are responsible need to be disciplined without doubt, they had no right to be in charge of dogs let alone people, the parents should sue the responsible people and the commissions they represented, it makes me sick that they new there was a problem but instead of rectifying the problem they destroyed the papers instead, that to me is despicable, they should never be allowed to lead or belong to it in any way to do with health care, they should with out doubt be sent to prison!!!.

Syria
Once again my thoughts turn to the conflict in Syria, the new elected president of Iran has stated that he intends to send 4,000 troops to support Assad's regime, then we have the USA saying it is going to arm selected rebels, just how you might select them is beyond me, then we have Putin's Russia, I understand that he is the power behind Syria, supporting Assad, it is pretty obvious that the present government is dead in the water so why support it?, the USA has to be very careful just how it goes about this selection of groups it will support, just look at Vietnam, I always felt that the West should intervene but that was when it was a fight for democracy, that has now changed, we have been to involved in the Middle East, we should not be there it is not our responsibility nor really anything to do with us, all we seem to achieve is the death of our young soldiers, too many for me, the only problem for me is the children of these violent places, idiotic laws that put women down and treat them like dogs, just what is religion all about?, love and respect for your neighbours? in the Middle East not a hope in hell, the same with Turkey, what an idiot president we have here, in a country that is well known for its abuse of its people, I watched the mad police attacking civilian's with tear gas, baton rounds and water canons, the president in a speech to people in Ankara being told by this cretin that this is how the world behaves that this as it is in Europe the USA, I think not, it is not surprising that Turkey can't get into the European Union, we cant lower ourselves to allow this country in till their human rights of the people are sorted out.

Queens Birthday
As an ex soldier I really like to watch the trooping of the colour, it is a magnificent show of colour, pomp and pageantry, we should be proud that this country has such a colour full history, 1000's watching, kids loving it, and so we should, where would we be if we were a republic?, what if we did go to be a republic, I believe we would go grey, colour would leave the country, so be proud of our heritage support our troops and of course the Queen.

Syria
I could scream this morning as a UNICEF children's champion to see that the estimated death rate of children in Syria is 6,500 how can anyone explain this to the World, I keep saying this war is not acceptable, too many religious zealots fighting for both sides, Hezbollah are in the mix as are many people from the UK, why are they there?, not for the benefit of the general population, this all started because people wanted democracy! not a chance now religion has taken over!, no freedom just a rule not any different to what is there now, oppression of women and young girls religious law will be implemented, so all these civilians are dying for nothing, then the sickest thing is that chemical weapons have been used, just how can anyone justify that?????????.

NHS
I have to say that the hospital in Peterborough is in financial melt down all thanks to a wonderful PFI, at a fantastic cost to the people of Peterborough, the management can't manage the payments for this building, but that to me is of no matter, this came about by government ideas of the best way to go forward for the NHS, it has to be remembered that the money that built the hospital was money from a pension fund so it is of course expected that they get a fair return on their investment, but with the thought that if the now government have their way many services that are provided now will go to other hospitals, meaning that the patients in Peterborough will have to travel many miles to get treatment it is not acceptable, people expect to receive treatment in their locality not many miles away, the cost implications I believe are no better by sending patients to different hospitals many miles away, treatment has to be paid for and in many cases so does the cost of transport come into play, it is going to be an unacceptable situation.

Syria , Africa
I have to bring up the plight of children in Syria and Africa, they are dying hand over fist, being murdered by religious zealots, no thought about the kids, just what drives grown men to murder children?, do they not realise the damage they are doing to the country?, these people will wonder in the future why there are no young people about a missed generation will leave Syria with major problems in the World I just hope these killers on both sides are brought to justice, but we know at the end they will melt into the distance (most likely the UK and start claiming benefits) they will reappear when the next conflict suits their religious traits.
Then we see in Africa children dying every few minuets, little or no food or clean water, no medical care, so why is this happening hear, war again in most places, what kind of war well of course religion, what a surprise!, Middle East then Africa just what is religion all about?, the West gave up their control in these countries, some have progressed well but some just can't sort their problems out, weapons are not needed are they?, because the regimes buy weapons instead of dealing with the infrastructure of the country children die, should we not be ashamed?, it is not the UK's fault as some would have it, many years have passed since our great grand parents participated in the construction of the Empire, its gone it is not for us to take the blame for what is happening today, the fault lies squarely on the shoulders of the country concerned, they need to be told that if the grants we provide are spent on weapons then we will stop the grant, but then what would happen to the UK weapons companies?, so the children will carry on dying another continent same problem.
To add a little bit to this, there is a lack of food in the World including England, so Peterborough City Council want to use three tenanted farms they own as a solar panel farm, some 300 acres I believe, not useless land!, arable land that is in food production, just how stupid is this?, we can't afford to give arable land up for stupid schemes that some officer has dreamt up, we need to worry about renewable energy when we can feed everyone in the UK not before!!

NHS
Just watched some of Prime Minster Question's time in parliament, Labour kicking up about A&E and the problems it is experiencing, but I have to say that they do not have the first idea as to what the problem is, they sit in London pontificating about the problem, they believe that they know what the problem is and how to fix it, when an MP or Minister of state visits a hospital it is everyone on best behaviour, they cancel appointments to ensue they show the better side of the service, as a patient representative I see it just a bit differently, I see the queues that build up very quickly, often because more than one patient is booked for each appointment just in case some of them become
" Did Not Attend" (DNA), but the problem comes when they all turn up causing mayhem,
One of the worst clinics to attend is the fracture clinic it is always overwhelmed, Gastroenterology is another clinic that can keep you waiting for long periods of time, then the A&E, just looking in the door can frighten you off, it has to be remembered that each patient has a troop of carers this alone can make the clinic look extremely busy even when there are in fact just a few patients, the problem for most hospitals is the need to admit patients but where do you put them if the wards are in fact full, this is where patients are left in all sorts of areas just so they can be admitted when a bed does become available, but this is not acceptable but what can be done?, maybe pop up hospitals a tented mobile unit that can be erected quickly and be used to take the overflow, it is no good saying that we need to get patients home sooner, sooner can mean that you are not completely recovered and you have been discharged to soon possibly allowing additional conditions to arise, so in my mind Parliament really does not understand the problems of the NHS, they need some one on the ground floor who can visit and assess the services without the bull that happens when authority visits.

Lee Rigby
So the government are going to crack down on Islamic extremists, they have been sitting round a table talking once again, while just up the road one of the killers of Drummer Rigby appeared in court, was he remiss not a chance, there he was blowing kisses to his younger brother, then had the nerve to insist that he wanted to be known by a different name, and guess what the court allowed this absolute cheek, he has as far as I am concerned given up his right to any such human rights, he has no right as far as I am concerned to be able to change his name just like that, he should be told that he is a murderer not convicted yet but there has to be a guilty verdict, he seems to insult the court by making out he did not know how to behave, sitting down when he should have stood it would not be acceptable state of affairs if anyone else behaved in this manor, so the government is cracking down, but not at the moment because this poor injured terrorist has to have his human rights protected God forbid we should behave in a manner that does not give the underdog the upper hand, it is time for us to accept some people step outside acceptable behaviour so have to be treated in a different way, the sooner we accept this the better.

Optitions
I am sure you will know what I am talking about when I say "Should have gone to", well when you do and you need to have to have specific lenses, all of a sudden the price rockets, you have a cheap range at a third of the price next two thirds and finally just for your set of lenses you are at £159, plus the cost of the frames, then you might need or of course want scratch resistance possibly a tint, so where are we for a likely two year period at best £300+, I think may be have been better to go somewhere else, my question is why is it when you have new glasses do you have to have new frames, I would dread to think just how many pairs are kicking about in draws all over the UK.

NHS
It beggars belief, my neighbour has been diagnosed with throat cancer, his treatment is at a hospital 48 miles away, we actually live a 15min walk to our local hospital, now to travel 96 miles on a return journey might seem not a lot to ask but when it has to be done 21 times in a very short period it becomes wearing, the main road that you have to travel on is one of the worst accident and traffic jam roads in the country, it becomes a journey of about 41/2 hours if not longer, so that has to be taken into account when looking at the stress levels that are attained, as the treatment goes on the stress becomes stronger, the throat will not allow you to speak only in a whisper and it is very difficult to drink and eat, so at the end of all this radio therapy and travel events you just might recover from the cancer but at what additional cost to your health?, all this stress could be contained by treating patients at their local hospital rather than travelling such distances, because of the therapy he has had to be transported to his treatment by hospital transport, all this cost when a perfectly good hospital is within spitting distance.
I am fully aware that some hospitals are specialist hospitals and deal with certain conditions, what has happened over the years some hospitals have grabbed the limelight with their specialist working and have added more and more conditions that they specialise in leaving some hospitals very close by with no ability to do this work, so the specialist hospitals expand and non specialist ones contract, it has to be asked of patients will you be happy to travel many miles at your expense, to hospitals that are a long way away because your hospital is not qualified to look after you, is this the NHS you want?, because if you do not watch out this is just what will happen, so beware.

NHS
Well the NHS just will not go away, it is worrying that it is so much in the news every day, not for good things I am afraid, but why is it that ministers attack the service?, the nasty bit for me is the statement "free a point of contact" just what does that really mean?, are we to be looked after?, or is it the governments plan to privatise the service?, will everyone in a few years have to have insurance before we can be treated?, do not think that this will not happen because some of it is now, we all know just how much has to be paid to dentists!, and if the treatment does not work do you get a refund? not a chance you have to pay once more for the same work done probably 6 months ago, how can this happen?, if you are sold a faulty item you can get it replaced or a refund, so if the treatment you receive is not up to standard should you not have the same rights?.
But as we now have GP's looking after our well being all will be well and we do not need to worry, with the implementation of the Clinical Commissioning Groups GP's are spending your health care money on what they consider to be your best interests, so just how many Patients are involved in this work? not many, I am bothered that it is difficult to get involved because as I see it you are not wanted, for all the Governments bull about the need for the NHS to be patient led is just a joke, I think it is tell us what you think then we will do what we want anyway.
Many, many questions not many answers!!.
