Food and the NHS

Did any one see the James Martin program on food in the NHS?, if not you should have, he proved that the food served to patients country wide was/is rubbish, he points out that food is another form of medication, good food means better recovery and quicker discharge, cook / chill seems to be the big thing, when patients were questioned about the food they were given  was at best rubbish, photos sent into the program showed the most disgusting food you have ever seen, the trouble is that Trusts work on such a low budget for patient food (prisoners are allocated more for food) so low only rubbish is served, Hospitals need to understand that cook/chill is not acceptable for patients, it is an utter disgrace that this is happening in the NHS, this type of food means that you are likely to me malnourished on leaving the hospital, many families take food into the ward for their family member, so often you are not as well as you might be on leaving the hospital, ask your hospital how they provide your food you might just get a surprise!!!.

NHS

The NHS is in turmoil, service to patients is now seemingly on a financial best interest, does the patient have enough of a life left for it to be of value to save them, many hospitals were the product of the PFI, pet of Blair and Brown, to say they got it wrong would be an understatement, my local hospital pays approximately £3 million a month rent, how can a Trust possibly budget for this vast amount of money, this is money that could and should be spent of patient care, but then if you invest in the pension company who own it, they would say it is value for money, but what about the treatment of the patients??, staff are not likely to join a hospital that has massive debts especially if they are looking for promotion, I see the way forward is to cut the qualified nursing staffing, increase the level of care assistants, after all they seem to be the only people on the ward who get their hands dirty, Qualified Nurses now have a degree so they seem to think that they are exempt from doing the dirty work, I ought to make a comment here Nursing is a caring profession it is not a post where you can sit about making out you are busy, to make things very clear I am not talking about the older nurse who received her/his training on the ward, it is time for the NHS to sort things out before  it sinks into the mire unfortunately it has one foot in it already.

Scotland

So, Scotland says that we will have to let them have the pound and that the EU will have to let them in, well I think that this just might not happen, if you do not want to be part of the UK then go away, why should they have the use of the pound as such they will be a foreign country as such where else in the world could you see this happening?,  You just can't tell Europe that you are going to become a member of the community just like that, they say they have been members for 40 years no they haven't they are part of the UK and as such a partner not an individual, so they will no doubt have to apply as does everyone else, it seems that certain Scots think they are above all of this, they think that they have the right to dictate to the rest of the UK what we have to do to allow them to become independent, that is the word independent!!, that means on you own Scotland you loose the benefits of the rest of the UK, get your own money isolate yourselves from the rest of us go it alone, best of luck, when it all goes wrong where will you be then?.

Diabetes

There are new numbers out the diagnosis of people with diabetes last year 163,000,  3.2 million people now have this condition, is that not remarkable all of these people with such a rotten condition, none I would say had the slightest idea that they were about to succumb, so what a surprise!, all the clues were there but missed, by the person, then the GP, but in the end it has arrived and the fact is that it is not going to go away, it is progressive, so unless you keep the blood sugars in good order things might just go astray, you have to take very great care, watch the carbs they are the danger, ensure you exercise eat properly and go on to have a good life, if you do not have it are you sure?, so many do not know!, why is that? could it be because they have no idea, and why would they have no idea?, well it just might be that we the people are just not told of the dangers, I have just wondered for many years why that is, can it be money? what else can it be?, I really have no idea, but whatever it is I hope it stops soon before it is too late. 

Terrorists

At long last the media have realised that many young men from this country are going to fight in Syria, what a bunch of idiots, just what do they think they are doing?, now one has been a suicide  bomber, left his family, so what then happens, an appeal on Facebook for donations to support his family!!, are they mad?, what are they thinking about, this person has deserted his family in this country, now we will have to look after his family for the rest of their lives, why?, why are we expected to do this?, because we are idiots we allow our politicians to allow these people to leave and return  at will, it has to stop, the anti terrorist group, the police and MI5 and MI6 I am sure all these agencies have these people on their radar, so is it not time to act?, should we not warn them as they leave the country that they will be refused entry on their return?, by going to Syria to fight they are making a declaration, they can't be trusted so really are not wanted in this country just in case they just might do something stupid.   

Peterborough Hydrotherapy Pool

Here we have a pool that is of great benefit to so many people use this facility who need to be able to use this pool both young and old, but the city council have put it down for a budget cut meaning it will close, now some of you might say well it is hard times and cuts have to be made, but many users have medical conditions, that if they are unable to have the use of a hydrotherapy pool might just see their condition worsen, is this acceptable?, in my mind no way, some one has to pick up the cost as if they don't there will be a massive drain on the NHS as these peoples conditions worsen, please help if you can, look on the Peterborough City Council Site and express a comment, thank you 

Scotland

I have to say that I am really fed up with this crazy referendum, is it wise  to leave the UK?, is it also wise to let 16 year olds  vote in such a massive question?, the game no doubt for Scotland it that the first minister thinks that they just might be daft enough to vote Yes, how stupid is it that?, anyone who is living in Scotland on the day can vote?, they do not have to be Scottish any Nationality is allowed to vote, is that not mad??, then the Scottish people living in any other part of the UK will not be allowed to vote!!, that is insulting how ever you look at it, will they be allowed to use the Pound I really hope not, this nasty bit of legislation instigated by the first minister  is a disgrace, every time I see him he looks like a little man trying to be a big man, his ego must be massive, he seems to of  be a real deva, look at me I am great, I have news for him, he is not the big man that he thinks he is, hopefully the people will vote No and keep the status quo, belonging to the UK is the way forward!!.
 

Obestity

I hate to come on to this subject but I have to, all this talk about obesity missis one very important point, it is a possible indicator of diabetes, maybe you have it maybe not, but being overweight is a contributing agent to the condition, diabetes has been called the silent death, it is certainly a debilitating illness if you do not control it, trouble is many, many people have the condition but are not aware, we have to take a grip of diabetes, it is costing the NHS millions a year, we should be aware of our fast food intake, our laziness, we need to get out and exercise take the kids with us, take care be warned, diabetes is at epidemic proportions world wide, please, please take care do not get diabetes you really do not want it, I talk from experience and I would not wish is on anyone!!!.

Wind Farms

I have to say that this free energy is costing us the earth, the government is paying rather large subsidies to these companies, who I might add are all of foreign extraction, it was expected that these turbines would be built in this country, not a hope, the turbine is built in Germany, the cables made in Italy, so no work for this country, all but one field off the East Coast belongs to foreign companies, the extra cost over the subsidies is of course added to our bills, so "free" no way, we pay as tax payers and then to add insult to injury we pay through our bills, these turbines have a life span of 25 years at most so what happens when this life expectancy is over? your guess is as good as mine, but one thing is for sure we as tax payers will have to bear whatever cost arises, and no doubt it will be foreign companies who benefit from UK tax payers again
