Europe

I have just spent some time in hospital, again it left a lot to be desired, even though very ill I have still been watching the carry on in the world and of course Europe, David Cameron I believe has fat chance of getting a reformed Europe is I believe
pie in the sky.
Non of the eastern European countries are going to agree to the proposed cut in benefits for four years employment in the UK, the wages in these countries are so low that any benefit they can gain here out strips anything they might get in their own country, how is it that people living in this country can claim child benefit even though the child/children do not live in this country, many who have come here have no intention of working, they are just milking the system which is a disgrace, but why do we accept this, why is it that some in the UK go on and on about the benefit migrants  are to this country, these are people who are using migrant workers to do all the farming ground work and many employers offering work at less than the minimum wage in factories, being often also given accommodation as part of the deal that is so costly to the worker they are often working many hours for next to nothing, the more I  look at membership of the EU the more I am likely to vote to get the hell out of it.    

 

Russia

Russia seems to just go on and on, they seem to just need desperately beat everyone else in competition and then move on from one stupid thing to another, politically and military it is to be believed cheats in athletics, it always was a bit obvious that some of the athletic team members  were performing better than expected, it is really sick that the Russian athletes were blatantly taking enhancing drugs, so that other countries athletes lost events to these cheating people, but looking at this realistically are we saying that the Russians are the only country to be involved in drug taking in all sorts of sport i.e. The Olympic Games, Commonwealth Games, the World Championships, the European Championships, to name just a few, not thinking about football?? where there is money sloshing about in disgusting amounts, if there is an opportunity for financial  benefit it is not surprising   that some take drugs. I find it difficult to accept that athletes caught using drugs can be allowed to carry on in the sport, reality says that if you are caught you take the consequences of  your actions, it has to be if caught you are finished in sport world wide, no second chances out is the word, that then helps the athletes who are clean compete in a truly clean event, but of course the little man in charges in Russia will blame the world, how dare we accuse Russia of doing this!!, will the world do anything to sort this out, to be honest I believe there is not a hope in hell!!!!!!. 

Egypt

I see that they have the black boxes from the aeroplane crash in Egypt, they say that all was going well and all OK then an explosion, now could it possibly be that the plane decided to blow up for no apparent reason? or could there have been a bomb on board, to me the bomb has to be the most obvious reason IS are admitting that they did it, I know that they often try to take the responsibility for all kinds of terrorism, but for once I believe that this just might be the truth, My reasons for this conclusion is based on the fact that Russia has been bombing and  bragging about the bombing sorties that they have carried out against IS, so what would you expect of IS?, they are not bothered about Russia and any retribution  that might come their way, they have kicked Russia in the teeth and possibly inadvertently  destroyed the holiday plans of many Europeans, the UK being one, security at airports in the world will when they see a bomb has been planted will boost security but as time goes by they slip back into their old ways, this sort of attacks will only get the security that is needed after the event, as always shutting the door when the horse has bolted!!!!!.

Cyprus

So will someone tell me who is a refugee or who is not?, are all these people who have arrived at RAF Akrotiri?, they want refugee status but not in Cyprus, that shows me that these people are not in fact refugees but migrants, I have seen the response to the RAF who unlucky for them have had this problem dumped on them, the human rights law says that you have to apply for asylum in the first country you come to, so these people have to register in Cyprus, because of this they are up in arms because they are not getting exactly what they want, they seem to think that we in the west should provide housing, medical aid, education, ands of course free money, they would have had money in their pockets if they had not been stupid enough to pay the people trafficas in Turkey.

It is also very noticeable that the majority travelling are men, mainly young to middle age, there seems to be a marked absence of females, why is that ??, they are arriving with a massive chip on their shoulders, with unrealistic expectations of what to expect in the West, they seem to think that they will be allocated housing , free medical treatment, and free education for the few children that have been brought with them, no matter what the do gooders say or do this can't and is impossible to do, if you should  think me wrong ask yourself, where the housing is in this country for a start, just remember that wounded soldiers have returned to this country and really have been deserted by us, I was gob smacked that the BBC  big build had to get involved to help these hero's that we all seem to have forgotten about, lets for once be realistic, we are cutting back on everything, so we do not have the finances to cope with a large influx of people, tax credits are being cut because of budgetary restrictions or so we are told, so we just have to keep out of  this major problem we can't do anything about it let the big wigs in Europe deal with the problem, the Middle East has cost us an arm and a leg already,  let them spend some money instead of looking towards  us  every time there is an incident in the world. 



 

Middle East

Here we go again, a civil airliner crashes is an area where war is active, now no one knows why it came down into a desert but questions have to be asked, could it have been brought down by terrorist forces in the area??, who knows at the moment but aircraft do not fall out of the sky unless something pretty serious has happened, and to make things even worse its a Russian plane, just what will they make of this, just what level of spin will they employ to attack the West, you can be sure it is our fault whatever happened, we will only find out what might have happened  when we are fed the story from the Russian authorities, the one thing you can be sure of is that we will only be told what Russia wants us to know no more than that, all airline have to stop flying over war torn countries you just never know what might happen with the idiots on the ground  who have no idea as to decency or the consequences of their actions, from now on it would be criminal to fly over these countries I just hope that air lines take note!!!!.

China

What was the Chinese president doing in this country?, other than allegedly spending £3 billion, no  reason other than trying to get his and his country's  status in the world upgraded, for me it failed miserably, I saw all the supporters in their red t shirts but wait a moment the press found a big box of these t shirts that had been brought in by diplomatic bag, now if we tried such  thing in China just think of the stink that it would cause, He said China was like the UK but we all know that is not true at all, the population walk the land with no human rights, life is not worth a penny, you can be denounced be declared Guilty and summarily executed, no appeal in fact no defence at all, piled on a lorry with many more to a deserted spot to be shot, often your family have no idea as to what has happened to you, women who were pregnant for a second time were told to attend a clinic to have an abortion if you did not attend you were dragged to the clinic and forced to have the abortion, then we have the fact that they want to build a Nuclear Power station for EDF and the government, why would  they do this?, because the government will be paying twice the going rate for  the energy produced, and just guess who will pay in the end?????, So are we really like China no not at all, we are civilised allow freedom of speech and movement not so in China, personally I want nothing to do with them, they should go away and start  to think that a dictatorship is not acceptable, that is, if you want to be associated with the UK, otherwise go away and do not insult us!!!!!.

   

Tax Credit

What the hell is going on??, clever government I don't think, they tried to get the bill through the House of  Lords really by the back door, so the chancellor got just what he deserved a slap in the face, so what is the answer?, blame the upper house for their faults seems to be their only answer,  but I have to ask how can you cut to save £4 billion and no one suffer, the least well off would be likely to loose £1200 per year, how does the government suppose that these people will manage to survive, I keep hearing from the conservatives how they look after Hard Working people, so does that mean that people on lower wages do not work hard??, we are beginning to get very close to many services having to be cut beyond belief, yes we have to live within our income but we cant cut just for the sake of cutting, it is annoying that a senior government minister does not think before he acts, the treasury officers might think that this is a good idea, hit the poor once again but its not, many on tax credits are the lowest paid hard working people and savings should be looked for elsewhere.

Comando

It makes me sick to think that a soldier has been convicted of murder and has life imprisonment, this was a man who was in a life threatening situation, saw friends killed, body parts of his mates hanging from trees, what sort of mind would you be in??, would  you be kind and understanding to the enemy?, or would you go after them with blood in your eyes, having probably never seen the enemy and the fact that you just might die at any moment you react irrationally, there is no way you can be blamed for you actions in the middle of enemy attack, his job was to protect his men, so he shot a Taliban fighter who was in fact all but dead, that does not mean that killing is acceptable but the circumstances have to be understood and some help to him to recover, so what does the navy do why of course charge him with murder, the panel who convicted him were never told that manslaughter was a possibility just Murder, the soldier admitted that he did shoot the man so what chance had he?, to make things worse for him he was given an inadequate defence lawyer, how can this be justice, he has served the time he would have received for manslaughter so shouldn't the military get off their high horse and give this soldier at least some respect, he in the past had done more than hi share of fighting in the middle east, in times of acute stress soldiers react in often unexpected ways, when your mates are killed in front of you how do the people of this country think what might happen?, retribution comes to mind knowing what they will do to you if caught you will not react in a positive way, I believe that rage comes into the mind and this is your chance to rid you of one of your enemies so we have to understand the circumstances of this and release this man into his family to hope that he manages to return to a normal life, but how difficult will that be????    

Syria

It is amazing that the little man of Russia has entertained the dictator Assad of Syria in Moscow, just what evil plan is he hatching now, you can be sure that it will wind up the West, the Russians are behaving just as they did in the Ukraine go in to some one else's country for one reason only that is     to keep Assad in power, and kill anyone who opposes him, Assad is really safe now he has Russian help and will do everything to kill of the free Syrian army, who are after all fighting for democracy, a word very little heard of in Syria and even less in Russia, the little man seems to be taking great delight in watching the West Squirm and knows no one will do a thing about it, how can a world leader behave in such a way but there he is king of the roost.

So more and more people will leave Syria, the world will not cope with the rush, the Greek Islands are over run with refugees they are busting at the seams, who is going to feed, house, educate, give them medical care, the answer as sad as it is it just can't be done, the weather is again changing for the worse, snow and heavy rain, ideal for illness, out in the open cold, hungry no where to go, I bet the people traffickers don't tell them that when they extort money from them, a bad situation only to get worse!!!!.

Syria

It is so sad to see so many people moving across Europe, well only a little way across as governments have closed their boarders, it is all well and good saying we have to do something about it but how can we be expected to do what in reality??, we can only offer tents clothing and food but how can we take more people into this country as it is?, we have many people out of work, good working people now from the steel industry, and many more, and all of a sudden everyone seems to have forgotten the housing problem we have in the UK, we do not have anywhere enough available homes for the people we have now let alon having thousands more, just look at our schools, many are becoming totally overwhelmed, the NHS is at breaking point, but we still have people jumping up and down saying bring more in, then there is the church trying to bludgeon the government to accept more, I would support them if they were going to financially look after these people, provide accommodation, but of course Bishops who signed up to this would not accept any refugees in their Bishops Palace's, so maybe it would be better if they kept their mouths shut, we are not the only people in this wide world, what about, Russia, Australia, Canada the USA? lots of land can't they take some, but the problem has to be sorted at source, the people smugglers are the problem but they work with impunity isn't it possible for governments to sort this out?, if not why not, the winter is on its way snow is falling and these people are in the open no food or water, can I ask where is the Red Cross, Oxfam and all the others who beg money from us to help the people of the world, we have always supported hardship and donated millions so it is time to spend some of it, if we can't take them at least we can send aid, it has to be remembered the children are always to ones to suffer.

 

Iraq

Well finally it has come out about the collusion between Blair and Bush, from of all places Hillary Clintons emails obtained by freedom of information, just how anyone let out these damming emails is beyond me, Colin Powel was checking out Blair for some time and  showed that he had every intention of going to war with Iraq, weapons of mass destruction was just bull Sh**, no more no less, this cost the armed services hundreds of lives for what to boost two ego's it seems, that  must make the surviving families feel so good I don't think!!, I am disgusted that our leaders could behave in such a manner then do everything to cover it up, and still say it did not happen!!, still I suppose that the PM should have the right to tell us untruths after all how many of us have the intelligence to understand what is happening in the world, we are considered to stupid to be able to make an informed decision, after all we have not been educated at public school. I just hope that all the government ministers involved in this are taken to task but of course they will find that excuse and escape retribution, I believe that these two are at least guilty of war crimes by going to war without any just cause!!, but I wont hold my breath.         

Syria

Now we have more people leaving the middle east, thousands of them, countries closing their boarders because they just can't deal with the massive throng, where will they all go??, Germany has shut its doors as they are overwhelmed, but it was partly if not totally the actions of the German government because they said that they would offer refugee status to all Syrian people who arrived in Germany, now the lady has had to change her mind very quickly as her popularity started to fall, Germans now realise just what a mess they have caused in Europe, worst of all is that Turkey who we need to help is demanding to be allowed to join the European Community, they have Germany over a barrel, demanding 3 billion Euros as their price for them to assist, but how can we possibly allow such a country to join in Europe, they have no human rights at all, the people are oppressed and live a life of never knowing if they might be arrested and imprisoned with no trial, one suggestion is that they Turks be allowed to travel throughout Europe on a freedom of travel ID card, we would not be involved in this but how much of a risk is this to us?, and what if they are admitted to Europe?, then we would have an additional 25 million or more people who could legally move to the UK, still we have a lot of silly people about who would be up in arms if we were to block this  crowing about human rights, and saying that house holders in the UK should offer accommodation to a family, that has failed completely in Germany, the people have reached the end of their tether and a rebelling against the government. Has anyone noticed just how many single men are moving? having left their wife's and children behind in a war torn country, if you have a family it is your job to protect them not clear off saying you will have them follow you later on, are they mad?, no one wants them so just how would you send for yor family? when you have nowhere to live and support them, some how Europe has to stop this flow and to cut off the people who offer to get these people into Europe for a price it is said that they make £1.5 million a week in this trade, you have to cut the source at the beginning, but I fear it is far to late now!!!!.

The NHS

I see once again that a whistle-blower of the NHS finds that his old trust he was employed by have released his name to try and belittle his statements, how can that possibly be, how can a trust be allowed to vilify this man because he saw fit to speak up about patient safety in his hospital, so two of his colleagues were prescribing cancer treatments that were not needed at all, this could have put the patients at risk, I would have thought it did put them at risk, but why should the trust care, not to worry them till of course something goes wrong then its every one else's fault, so how is it that they know but do nothing? then take exception to a doctor who actually cares about patients safety, it seems that the trust boards have no respect for patient safety, the government has to step in and stop this mockery of patient care and safety, I have written to my MP about this and I hope some of you will to, be worried about patient safety it is top of my list.

Civil Aircraft Shot Down Over the Ukraine

I was watching the report on the air liner that was shot down over the Ukraine last year, it was shot down by a Russian Ground to air missile blowing up the front of the  cockpit killing the pilots immediately, three sets of people could have and for certain one did shot it down, the government of the Ukraine, I personally find this unlikely, the separatists  by Russia a good possibility, then the  Russian army, they are more likely to have committed this act, but the one thing for sure is that all we are ever going to know is that some one did it, but they do not have the courage of their convictions and have a big stone to hide under never to come out again.
 

The NHS

I see that the NHS has a black hole in its accounts of 930 Million plus, but still the chancellor persists with the mad idea that it can afford to offer a 7 day a week service, financially it is impossible and I find it difficult to accept that a man holding such a high rank of state as Chancellor  is not capable of doing the maths to work this out, not only that but the Ministry of Health is just as blind, so two ministers of state who do not have the slightest idea as to how this total mess is sorted out, that is if it can be, I am not in myself very optimistic at all, I remember that a certain MP submitted his paper on how to upgrade the NHS, I have to laugh as when it went through parliament he was removed from the health ministry, so not about to explain why he got it so wrong, he is still about but does not take responsibility for the cock up he has caused with our health.
Can we go on having a free service?, if not why not?, why do we spend so much money on overseas aid?, the cost of bombing in Syria and the air support we are involved in, we need to keep our military and not use them on conflicts that are nothing to do with us, we pay a fortune to the EU every month and get nothing near the amount back so why would we stay in, we as a country we need to start to look after our own people and stop trying to police the world, then maybe we would have enough money to keep the NHS solvent. 

The Middle East

How can Europe and NATO sit back and allow Russia to do just as she pleases in Syria, they are not there as they say to hit IS but to eradicate opposition forces against Assad, Assad has managed to destroy Syria bit by bit with no care to life be it young or old, male, female, of whatever nationality or Religion, no matter what they will die, now not only has he carried on with this carnage with a free hand he now has support of the Little Man of  Russia!, a man who has a fixation with telling the world one thing then doing exactly the opposite, how can a world leader get away with blatant lying about his actions to the world, one of his planes managed to invade Turkish air space, he says a mistake, Turkey says it was deliberate, I believe Turkey they have no reason to say that the venture by Russia in to their air space was anything other than deliberate.
One thing for sure is that if this niggling carries on sooner or later there will be a major incident, where Russia will again make a point of  gaining the high ground and blaming everyone else rather than itself, this is a dangerous situation, here we have a mad man running a very powerful Nation with  no need to worry about the west because he is well aware that they are all frightened to death by him and will do nothing at all to stop him, this can't carry on he needs to be  reined in before it is to late or is it to late already????.

The NHS

I keep seeing the government saying that a patient can see their doctor 8am till 8pm seven days a week !!!, that is an impossibility, no young just qualified doctor is going to sign a contract that says this, some people say that a GP has it all to easy!, I know mine works very hard is always understanding and is accessible, unless you a seriously ill why would you need to see your doctor on a Saturday or Sunday afternoon?, some say they are at work, but then I have to ask why do you expect your doctor to bend his working week to accommodate you, would it not be better that you select a GP that suits your needs rather than expect GP's to have to change their working week to suit you!!, reality says that we have a massive shortage of GP's young doctors do not want to do such a job,  I know of surgeries that are short of one if not more GP's with no hope of replacing the vacancy,  many are under so much pressure that they are retiring early to escape the system, and  I for one do not blame them at all, so in reality a shortage of doctors is a reality so how can they increase the work load on the ones that are left, to make things worse those that are close to retiring might just go even earlier then what??. I also notice that at one point it was thrown about that we should pay £10 a visit, well now some bright spark is suggesting  £30 a visit, the world has gone mad!!!.

The UK

I have to ask just what the demonstrators in Manchester really want, yes the NHS still needs more money but much can be saved by stopping fraud, it is surprising that many managers in the NHS have no clinical qualifications at all, so if you have a CEO who is clinical trained he/she does not have a hope in hell running the hospital, it has often been said to me that the staff working in a hospital resemble an upturned triangle, the clinical staff are out numbered by admin staff, why do we need so many admin staff?, I understand we need some, but so many it makes you spin, if you look  at the staffing requirements of a hospital, not counting the clinical departments there are many, many Business departments each having a compliment of staff, and of course a manager, it makes no sense at all, it is all well and good having targets for the hospital to meet, so when they don't meet  the set target the hospital unit becomes involved in trying to get back to the target, meaning other things go by the board, that is not acceptable situation to place hospitals in, not very often do you hear good things about a hospital and when you do the media loves it when they unintentionally fall below their usual standard the hospital and staff are pilloried and hung out to dry, who in their right mind would get involved in this mad house?, not me. 

So yes support the NHS but look at it in a manner that looks at the whole situation not just argue about pay levels, be realistic we need the NHS we do not need UNIONS to destroy it!!. 

Syria

I hate to go  about this conflict but I feel the need to have a go, what is it with Russia?, we lost good men supplying them with stores during the 2nd world war with the dreadful Artic
convoys , and all they have done ever since is slap us in the face, not only us but the majority of the world, how can one man be allowed to dictate his will on every one else, I am sure we are fed some disinformation by our spin doctors, but we can see on our  TV sets destruction virtually as it happens and I do not believe that it can really be spun at the time of transmission, what is seen  is disseminated by the person watching it, attacks are obvious they, I do not believe be staged managed, so where are we in all this?, well we have a despot dictator hanging on by a thread at one point but now has the backing of the little man in Russia, so the Russians are supporting a vile dictatorship that has been known to use poison gas on its own people, how is it possible to justify support for such a man?, the west is now deep in trouble, the air space that the west uses to bomb IS is now taken over by Russian aircraft a sure recipe for disaster, how long will it be before a mistake is made and someone's aircraft  is shot down, it is possible for it to happen just remember the Ukraine a civil aircraft but still blown out of the sky, the little man has the drop on the US, the UK and the rest of the world, not one leader is strong enough to say to him it is time to stop playing games and for him to direct his time to his own country he has enough problems at home to be bothered about before interfering in others

Syria

I see that the Little man has decided to join in this conflict, they say they that they are helping the West but as usual do something totally different, they have chosen to bomb the Free Syria Army, the Foreign Minister said that a terrorist is a terrorist that's it, so they being it seems on the Government of Syria's side they see everyone else as a terrorist group,   so what has happened? the little man is once again playing games with countries and peoples lives, lives it seems to matter not to him he is playing a game with the USA and the West winning is the end nothing else matters to him, truth does not come into it, he will support an oppressive regime no matter what, he has had some fun with the Ukraine, he has gotten his way with lies and deceit, so where next? why not the middle east, put Assad in control of the whole country and he will be very close friends with them, and of course Assad can go on with his oppressive regime, it is a very delicate situation for the West as none of us know just how irresponsible the little man actually is, he has tried his best under the cover of his countries deceit  in everything that they become involved in, we should be very aware as to the danger this man might plunge the world into, I just hope that some one takes the presidency away from him and put him where he belongs in my mind a mental hospital prison.

Refuges

The news says that all these thousands of  people seeking a life in Europe are not refugees at all but four out of five are economic migrants not fleeing oppression or war but jumping on the Syrian band waggon denying their proper residency to access the back door to Europe, many would not gain access by normal means as they don't qualify for acceptance into European countries, the whole blame for this  debacle has to be laid at the door of Germany, their stupid statement that they would allocate refugee status to Syrian people fleeing the war in Syria was an invitation to all and sundry to attempt to get there did they make this statement with much thought or did they set this massive problem up deliberately? who knows, but this statement has triggered a people movement of thousands of people both Syrians and others who purport to be Syrian to overwhelm countries such as Hungary and Serbia, this has put massive strain on Austria, non of them coping with the mess that the Germans have managed to put on their shoulders, this has placed a ridiculous problem on the people of Europe, Germanys idea is to farm the refugees around states of Europe so many to each one, it is lucky that we are not involved in this mess, we are taking 5.000 a year from Syrian refugee camps so I believe that we will be helping the people who most need help, the alleged refugees in Europe seem to have money and surprisingly food, they can afford bus tickets as they can train ones, it seems to me that if you are fleeing war you flee with nothing at all, all you want to obtain is freedom and safety in a safe place, you do not dictate just where you will live, most wait for the war to end to return to the land and community to start life once more where you know how to live and prosper, the world has to be very careful that by moving so many people about Europe in countries that the migrants have no idea as to law and custom, it just might cause more problems than they can cope with!!!!!.

Hospitals

I find it sad to see the CEO  of Addenbrooks Hospital Cambridge, A clinical qualified Australian much was expected of him, and he seems to have given much, he was well known throughout the hospital as he was for once a visible head who was seen all through the hospital, and more positively liked and respected by all the clinical staff, he has run big hospitals before so he was aware of the pit falls that are in the NHS, he brought a breath of fresh air to the hospital but something has happened, I know not what but  it seems to me that anyone who happens to take on the job of a CEO  at a, NHS hospital must be mad because as I see it is not worth £265,000 a year just to end up with a breakdown or a nightmare to work in, what is it that destroys a CEO?, trying to keep within a too small budget decreasing year on year, you just cant keep squeezing hospitals or the time comes when you squeeze to tight and the only way is to reduce patient care, it seems that we are at a cross roads with the health of the nation about to come second best,  I have said many times if you are young get health insurance now as  later might be too late!!.

The Labour Party

They Used to have a question on BBC radio Cambridgeshire and it was " has the world gone mad " now seeing the result of the party leader contest I have realised it has, here we have a man who will destroy the armed forces, befriend IS, I could go on and on but I just can't believe that the country will be mad enough to elect him as the PM. so many of his own MP's failed to support him and are unlikely to in the future whatever the whips might tell them to do, I do not want to see my country in the hands of the unions, we went through that in the 70's, "the winter of discontent" seems to ring a bell, however you look at it the PM has to present a certain aura and this leader just does not cut the figure of a senior member of Parliament, it does not surprise me that some of the outrageous members of the party are all for him, the possible saving grace for the UK is that we the population are not fooled by these type of people so I am sure that we are or should I say intelligent enough to see that the good parts are far out weighed by the massive downfalls that the country would suffer if stupidity should reign, we have to be sure that we are not bullied by party atavists and tell them to go run.   

NHS Again

I am off on one again, just where does the government thinks it can find staff for the NHS?, it seems that they can magic up doctors and nurses from fresh air, some one has to tell them to be realistic it is just not going to happen, a seven day service don't make me laugh, there is a massive shortage of GP's, trained staff just do not want to go in to it anymore, many emigrate to Australia for better pay, work ethics and of course a better living, why would they stay here?, nurses are not a committed as they once were, training has changed so much but again I have to say the one thing that is not in all qualified nurses is it the word Care, for some reason this word is vanishing from the NHS vocabulary,
so what does the future hold for us as users, not a lot really, can I ask do you really want to see a consultant at the weekend? probably not, the reason for patients passing away at week ends is not because of lack of consultant care but just lack of care, have a look round a ward on a weekend just try and find staff you will have to look hard, Saturday and Sunday night shifts are lacking hospital staff as such and patients are allegedly looked after by agency staff, I spent two full weekends in hospital we had 12 cardiac patients being looked after by two agency nurses who I heard them say had never worked on the ward before, of these two qualified nurses one had to spend the best part of 3 hours doing the drug round, one health care assistant giving the last drink of the day, so is it not at all surprising that so many die at the weekend.
You the younger generation needs to be fully aware of all of this, it will be far to late when you find yourself or one of your family is hospitalised, you need to make sure you are fully aware of the problems and for once do something about it!!. 

Europe .UK

Has every one in the UK gone mad, well it seems that many have, now as sorry as I feel about what is happening in the Europe today and these poor people coming from Syria, they really must be desperate doing what they are doing to get freedom, that is fine, but I have to ask just what do people think would be the benefit to these people by offering them a room in their house, this is not for  a short time and it could be up to 4 years could you cope with people in your house who have a different way of life, eat different food have a different religion and do not have the slightest idea as to the ways and more importantly the laws that we uphold.
Looking at it logically, you  have to look at the cost of looking after these people for some considerable amount of time, the government will cover the cost for ONE year, then what??, can we afford that year anyway?, again this adds more pressure on the NHS who have enough problems as it is as does the GP service, where are the jobs for them?? we do not have enough for full employment now as it is, then Housing, it is said that we need 251,000 houses built each year we manage about half of this amount, so where will they live?, still in your house after 4 years?, or will it be as it has been where some are living on Roundabouts on main roads or on green land, Europe opened the gates so let Europe deal with it, for hundreds of years the refugees have mainly stopped close by thedir country of origon so that when conflicts are resolved they are close by to reurn to their known life, some are to quick to take these people away from their roots causing unknown problems for them having to totally readjust to a life which in fact is totally alien to them.

Migrant Movement in Europe

 It  is so sad to see so many people trying to get in to Europe, so many of them children, some families are leaving their children by them selves, these have to be looked after by government till they are 18 years of age, so many heading for Germany a Germany that used to allow workers in to work but at the end of their contract they were made to leave, now they are opening their arms to everyone, having lived in Germany I have to ask what is it all about?, they do not do anything that did not be of benefit to Germany, then we have Hungry overwhelmed by all sorts, if they are in fact refugees how can they afford to buy train tickets to Germany, they are now demonstrating but how can a country manage to cope with such an influx of people? how do you feed them? give them water all the logistics of life, without extreme difficulties to the local population, cant be done in the short term, if at all possible in the long term. 
As I look I see many single men just what are they up to?, may be nothing but who knows, Just where will employment come from? or will they be used as cheap labour, the German people are rising up against this flow of people into their country and we all know just how nasty some Germans can be,  I just hope that a plan can be found to sort this mess out but in reality by the time they do it will be as usual to little to late.

Hospital Treatment

I have once again been an in patient at my hospital, some 12 days so saw a lot, well looked after by the consultants but the nursing staff on duty were pushed to the limit, one qualified nurse between 12 cardiac patients, it is impossible for her to do all the work that the ward required.
.
 I had a mass of fluid on my legs meaning I needed the dressings changed twice a day, but needing to have them dressed did not mean they would be, most times I sat for up to 4 hours in a pool of fluid leaking out of my legs, not a good situation to be in when you are not well.

To make things worse food, cook chill, what a shambles that is, it should be called cooked disgusting, as many of the meals were not eatable at all, I know it is not a hotel but at least the basic food should be accepted as a secondary medicine essential to patient recovery, it is not right that  families have to bring in food for patients because the food provided is so vile.

 It is very noticeable that many staff are not British, many have a real problem making themselves understood and the patient to understand them, I had one filling in my forms who could not write in English so I had to spell each word for her, and many are agency staff, the two nurses we had on a Saturday night were both agency staff neither having worked on the ward in the past, so new faces looking after some very sick people is that an acceptable situation???. The shift is 12 and a half hours long how efficient are they at the end of shift ???.

Health

I have had a really bad 10 days, I have a lot of fluid trapped in my legs and my medication is not moving it, but then I started loosing it through scratches I received on both legs, so non stop fluid, went and saw the nurse at my GP's and had both legs bandaged under pressure, problem being that in a few days my knees and thighs were filling up as it was being blocked going down to my feet, so the compression bandages were taken off, I then had large plasters and a sponge pad put on with a  tube grip bandage, this is OK for a time but the fluid finally forces its way out of the plaster and soaks the area around you, not funny, on  Monday I was given a hand full of plasters and bits and pieces and told I should do it myself, OK till this morning, well not OK really made a real mess trying to do it properly, my cardiac nurse rang and found out I was dressing the wounds myself, she went mad and contacted my GP;s nurse and it seems many words were spoken, in the end I had to go in to have them redressed and was given heaps of kit to be able to do it myself with full instructions, so finally things have resolved them selves in a way, I have to be careful as I am diabetic and have atrial fibrillation so have to be careful, infection being the main problem, the question being am I more likely to gain an infection changing that dressings at home rather than at the surgery, we shall see!!.                                                         

 

The NHS

Now I know that the election has finished, support for the NHS seems to have vanished, staffing levels the government said that we needed more nurses and doctors, so much so that many hospitals went abroad to get staff, now it seems as many trusts are overspending (not their fault I believe) so they have been told that they can only replace staff if there is a dire need for that post to be covered, if not they have to leave it vacant, so where does that leave the patient?, as usual up the creek without a paddle, mind you that seems to have been the case for years, cancelled operations and appointments we as the patient have to bear this,  lucky for them that as they are MP's they will always get far better treatment than us, so they do not have the first idea as to what a patient goes through to be treated, I have had to sit  for hours waiting to be seen, many times because they had lost my notes,  I used to take exception to all of this but age has mellowed me a little and now I just can't be bothered, sad really.

Europe

I have been watching the news about people desperately trying to get into the UK, I see that some say that we should let them in as we have plenty of jobs! pardon me! plenty of jobs if that is so why do we have unemployment?, we have thousands illegally working in the UK being put to work for penny's, by gang masters, the employer would be rubbing their hands together the cheapest labour that has been about for years, I do not understand it all, all these people, what happens to their children? would our schools manage, health care would they cope? I have to say I think not, is it fair that these people should claim asylum here not in the country of arrival, most I have seen are young men, speaking just a little English, I have no idea as to what education they have but they do not seem to have what we would call a proper education, I don't know I would leave it up to you to decide.

Calis France

I see that we are off again, these illegal immigrants trying to break into the UK, disrupting the normal flow of traffic both ways, costing the UK a small fortune, how has this problem come about, well in the beginning people thought that the streets in the UK were paved with Gold, many had a rude awakening on arrival, now these people are arriving in Italy and Greece with no papers, they then make their way across Europe to France with no intention of claiming that they are refugees requiring asylum until of course they manage to break into the UK then they become asylum seekers, all a massive con, asylum is to be claimed in the first country of arrival not whichever one you feel like, it makes me sick that some charities are so concerned about these people waiting to enter the UK illegally that they are supporting them, just where are we are we at???, we can't keep taking more and more immigrants if they choose to put them selves at risk it is not for charities in this country to moan about the conditions they are living in France, let the French worry about this problem we are paying enough money to keep them out why do charities have to now join in?. 

SNP

I have been looking at just what the SNP are up to, I seem to remember that they said it was unlikely that there would be nether referendum on independence, it now seems that the seed to set up a new referendum in the near future, they say that if we have a referendum on our membership of Europe they would not go along with us leaving , so it seems that the SNP loves referendums but do not under any circumstances accept the vote of the UK, would it be better for us to get away from Scotland they are becoming a burden to the rest of the UK, their expectations exceed their promises that were given to keep them in the UK, was it worth it?, in my mind I think not, why should the rest of us have to put up with the bleating of the SNP, it would be fa better that they sit in Parliament and represent the Scots, not what is unacceptable to most Scots who just want to live in the UK and get on with and look to the benefit that can be had for the whole of the UK rather than tunnel view they hold at the moment.   

NHS Research

Well I just have to say to you all that I am very committed to Medical research projects, so much so that I have joined my local hospital as a Patient Research Ambassador, I am promoting research projects in the hospital with the staff and Patients working or visiting the hospital, It is my belief that research is the most important way that any patient can help with, it is just a little of your time and could possibly benefit many, many people, you might be a missing Link that  just might help in answering a research program question, that just might help thousands of people throughout the World, but basic research can help patients have a far better experience when they attending hospital, your NHS treatment costs you nothing, you get looked after so is it to much to ask you to take part in a research project, remember if you are asked to participate and the outcome just might help you as well as many other patients, you can be proud!!, you helped, you said yes, I would hope that any who are asked would say YES, it has got to be worth the effort. 

The NHS

I find in very amusing that the government expected consultants at the local hospitals to work weekends, it is very sad to say that there is a lack of care at the weekend, I have seen one nurse trying to cope with a whole ward on a Sunday, as soon as consultants go off shift on Friday you as a patient are at risk, you are likely to be looked after by an agency nurse rather than regular staff, but week ends are not the only time this is likely to happen, hospitals just do not seem able to hold on to staff, many are working for agencies because they get far more for a shift than if the were contracted to the hospital as staff, back to the week end, your consultant is at home your well being is in the hands of the junior doctors who with the best will in the world are not quite up to full speed so your care can lapse, you might become sicker or you might be lucky and survive, the only way for patients to get harm free care is if hospitals open fully seven days a week I mean not just clinical staff but everyone working for the hospital, some work weekends but the majority of admin support have every weekend off, good luck to them, but that does not help the patient safety, there is of course a fly in the ointment cost!!, just how with all the cuts government are imposing can the NHS keep up? I have to say there is not a hope in hell, at the rate we are cutting back the health service will go backwards not forwards, maybe it is time for a small tax rise to ensure this service is to be free for the future, or are we going to let is sink without trace??.  

The Greek Problem

What a sad situation the  Greeks find themselves in, an impossible situation for many, they are being told in even stronger language that they will do as Europe says we! will throw you out, I said last time the country exerting all this unwanted pressure is  Germany of course, the Greeks will be  in hock to Europe for years ! children not yet born will still be paying this off for many years to come, the rest of Europe could not care less the saying "there but for the grace of god go I" last night there was a mass demonstration petrol bombs tear gas stun grenades, but still the government managed to push through legislation to ensure the Greek's are brought to heal, you will not tell Europe how to manage you!, we will do as we want so shut up and get on with it, I am not at all sure that this will happen there are many anti austerity people who are very vocal, if they should escalate their venom look out Europe you just might get a massive smack in the face!!.  

Europe

I see that Germany has begun ruling the roost again, Hitler tried the hard way of taking over Europe but failed now we see that they have dictated to Greece the terms they MUST accept before they will be bailed out again, why is it Germany has such power? who gave them the right to dictate to another sovereign country, they see them selves as the big Europeans ones to be obeyed, so the Greeks who do not want it have no choice as to where they have to go or it will be you are out on your ear, this is a country where many great minds were educated and then took on the massive problems of their day, now they have been belittled by Europe, the Greek people who completed a democratic vote refusing to accept further austerity have had it thrown back in their faces mainly by Germany, also many of the other countries, and not only that the Germans say they do not trust the Greek government, this is a freely elected government who won on an anti austerity ticket it seems can't be trusted because they are presenting the wishes of the Greek people, as always no one listens to the voter Europe should be ashamed of their selves they are a disgrace.    

England

For once we have won a test match and won it well I hope that this carries on for the other 4, unfortunately we do not have anyone in the tennis once again, close but not close enough a pity, when you think that a 100 years ago world war 1 was a year old, but in reality did  so many young men had to die for what?, our freedom we are told, I have read extensively the history of the war, what was done and why, why is a really good question, why did we attack all over, why did we waste millions of tons of shells to obliterate the enemy only to find that it had not worked and our soldiers were mown down as soon as they went over the top, many regiments ripped to bits, walking across no mans land because they had been told that the enemy could not survive the bombardment that had been laid down, 7 full days non stop, what did that achieve? nothing as the enemy had gone to ground waiting to pop up and kill the attacking soldiers, point and shoot the enemy were unable to miss so no chance for the British soldier, over a short period of time the standing army was but no more, all the experienced men were gone just young men and boys left, but that did not stop the generals persevering with attacks that were never going to work, the officers were young replacing the experienced ones so did not have the ability to assess the problem nor how to deal with it, I just ask that you the reader remembers these young men who 100 years ago were in the field up to their necks in mud and water, could you do it?, are there any in this country who would defend it as they did??.  

Luton

I have been watching the local TV news to see a family of 12 have left the UK to live in Syria with IS as life is better with them than us, fine I do not have a problem with this at all if that is the way they feel all the best to them I hope that they have not made a mistake but that is up to them, what I am having problems with is the relations of this family are blaming the police for all of this, what??, yes they were refused travel the day before they left because one of them had a problem with their passport they returned the next day and flew out as they had the correct documentation so who is to blame for them leaving the UK, them and them alone no one else, the security services nor the police have any responsibility towards the family, we are in free society and if people want to leave this country so be it, one question I do have is have they the right to return to the UK if they realise just what a mistake they have made?? I would say no personally as they have turned their backs on us so really no return.   

The NHS

I was talking to a nurse a couple of days ago, I all of  a sudden realised that they are not aware that you just might have some me3dical knowledge or understanding, they are at a loss when you point out mistakes to them, they do not want patients who understand the NHS the expectation of the level of skill that is needed, and will point this out to them, the rule is still as always we know best, well to be honest at times you don't and you should accept this fact. I am fed up with consultants asking me "just what do you think I can do for you" or "why are you here today", you have the referral so why do you need an answer to this question?, it is as if they have no idea as to why you are sitting in front of them, in reality things will not change till younger consultants arrive on the scene and change the mind set of staff.

The world is again in turmoil, so many Brits killed on the beech on holiday, just where are we safe?, well to be honest no where, we are it seems to be the targets for all the mad men on the planet, mind you we are not the only ones! the whole of the western world is their target, not only that, they are not adverse to killing their own people, the world is getting to be a sad place, I have to go back to when we got involved with the US in Kuwaiti, then Libya, all the soldiers that we have lost for what, the only  thing that was gained was in fact nothing, in fact the region has become a  nightmare area for every one, no go even for residents, then just who is to blame for the boat people in the Mediterranean? they would not be there but for our intervention in the middle east, is it going to be that even in this country we have to walk the streets with eyes in the back of our heads?, I hope not!!.

History

So we have celebrated the battle of Waterloo, it is a pity that the French took the hump and would have no part in it, to arrange 5,000 people 100 guns and god knows how many horses must have been a logistical nightmare, and for them to come together and perform the battle is nothing short of terrific, it was not about beating the French but more of a remembrance of the 40,000+ soldiers that were killed in action or wounded, the British Guards were covered in glory during the battle and such a tremendous effort by several armies coming together to defeat Napoleon has to be remembered and celebrated, the history of this country is very important and the youth should be aware of the millions of soldiers who gave their lives for us to live in freedom, I feel very sorry for the French that they just can't grasp this fact and are so narrow minded that they blank this anniversary out, more fool them

World Football

FIFA for a start, money swilling about it is not at all surprising that bribery is prevalent, the African world is full of  it and they seem to pull all the strings of FIFA, what African county has not been involved in corruption??, it is impossible to get elected unless you have the heavy's to bully people to vote for you, Zimbabwe the despot in control will not give in till he is dead, what has he done other than destroy the country and bring it to its knees, but he isn't the only one there are so many more, so football with all its cash floating about must be like the goose that lay the golden egg, money for nothing easy to hide, these people are so astute, they have the best legal minds to ensure they are safe from the law, if things should go wrong they can run they have the money the skill to get away the escape route is prepared, and of course attack is the best form of defence, so FIFA it just might be better to close and restart a new, but so many have their filthy little hands in the pot there is no chance, so if you want to have the World Cup in your country you are going to need quite a few bob to pay off the delegates just what is this world coming to???.

Life

Just what is the weather all about, why am I so cold in June?, if we have global warming why so cold?, it has to be accepted that the weather is its own natural event, so maybe it will be a late summer, I am noticing the growth of solar panels on the roof tops of where I live, the question I have is who is making all the money out of it?, someone is making a killing, the return on these panels is about 20 years before all the profit goes into your pocket, by when they will have no doubt produced more update ones making yours old hat, why are we so taken with renewable power??, people say its free is it not to us as the people on the street, they are now erecting massive wind farms 30 off the coast of the UK, just think of the cost of putting them there, power companies do not spend money with out a massive return, meaning that we as tax payers are subsidising these costly power generators, just how long will it be before a ship hits one?, accidents do happen so why not here, we really need to be looking at effective power supply to ensure we have a consistent supply, no sun no wind NO Electricity.

The NHS

Now I have defended the NHS so many times but after my last visit to hospital it really upset me, all the support I have given shot to pieces by staff who just could not string two English words together so difficult to understand and impossible to ask questions of them because they could not understand me, please someone tell me the value of this to the English speaking patient?, I arrived in A&E to be looked after by a male foreign nurse, I had arrived in an ambulance and on the way a cannula was put in my arm by the paramedic, the nurse at the hospital told me that they could not use it as  had been administered by them, so he in his wisdom placed a second cannula in my arm next to the first one  then removed the one put in by the ambulance crew, when I was discharged the needle was removed from my arm, I was totally surprised to see that the cannula needle came out of my arm looking just like a fish HOOK bent how could that have happened?, I can only assume that when the second one was pushed in it hit the first one and bent, it is the only answer possible, this coupled with the administration of fluids, I was told by the Consultant that I needed 3 bags of saline fluid to re hydrate me, fine but I am fully aware of the NICE quality standard for this, and was very care full to watch and count the bags, just by luck I awoke to find a nurse about to administer a 4th bag, I asked just what she was doing to be told that I had been prescribed it by the consultant, I told her that I was not accepting this medication as it had not been prescribed, she went away and returned to say sorry they had made a mistake, just what might have happened is I had not been awake? this fluid would have been put in me causing who knows what, we need nurses that do not expect the heath care assistance to do all the menial work they need to join in and ensure that patient safety is preserved.
 

Hospital

Well I hope I am back into the land of the living, been so very ill, started three weeks ago with AKI, so had to be re hydrated but they gave me too much fluid so had to have it reduced, came out a week last Tuesday readmitted on the Wednesday Afternoon, emergency admission, they had managed to put me into atrial fibrillation A/F, so have had to have a total restructured drug regime and a lack of food, I  just could not eat the rubbish put in front of me which is laughingly called FOOD, in one week had a total of 2 bowls of porridge, half a bowl of tomato soup, it might have been red but not a tomato taste whatever is said, and finally 1/4 of an egg sandwich it hade cress but I have never had egg and cress that tasted so bland, I have lost over the past three weeks 1 stone 10 lbs, one real worry about the drip I was given, 3 bags seemed excessive to me and I was lucky that I was awake when a nurse tried to give me a fourth bag, I had to point out that I was not prescribed this fluid, when she finally looked at my fluid prescription she finally realised that I was right, I really dread to think what the outcome might have been had I been asleep when she came round!!!!!!!!!.

The NHS

I have to say do not listen to our MP's throwing money at the NHS it will not help to sort out the mess it is in, there have to be changes, they are to be found at the top, management non clinical staff, not the clinical staff, paying agency staff is a massive waste of money, so full time staff are what are needed, and I am sorry to say that they have to be able to speak English, and be aware of the way that care is given in the UK, in my mind new UK trained nurses should be started on the wards not a university, on the job training would I believe ensure that the people attending the course would gain the ability to be able to care, and to carry out those nasty little jobs that some nurses think is to far below them so will not do it.

Every time a target is introduced by the government it means a new manager and a team of people to collate the numbers, what happens to these staff if the target is removed ?, some it seems stay on drawing pay but having no department to work in, all of this needs to be stopped, illegal payments to top people is a con and a rip off the tax payer carrying the bill.

But you can help the future population of the UK, if you happen to be ill and you are asked to join in a research trial please, please give it a lot of thought, if you join you just might help future generations find a better answer or even a cure for illnesses, the NHS is FREE but you can help them by participating in research it does not hurt costs you just your time so give it a go!!, your involvement would be welcomed I am sure. 

NHS

It is a very annoying that the parties seem to want to kill the NHS!, whatever they say they are not properly supporting the service, they impose targets on the clinical parts of the hospital service, then make cuts to the budget, it is not possible for this to happen!, the clinical staff are running about like chickens with no heads trying desperately to meet the targets set for them by non clinical people who I am sorry to say do not think about the patient safety or experience.

There is a definite split in the hospital service, the clinical staff tell me that they feel that they are at the bottom of a diamond thin at the bottom heavy at the top, I have to ask is this why we are loosing so many health workers to Australia??, we train them then we burn them out and off they go, I understand this and I respect their decisions but we need to make our service more attractive to medical staff and just possibly they will stay and work here.

So we have a service that is imploding nothing to do with the work of the clinical staff more the fault of the management group, the service needs to be sorted out once and for all, but the decisions will be made by MP's and bureaucrats who do not have the first idea as too the effect that their decisions will have on staffing levels or more importantly the safety/experience of the patient!!.
I just hope that the  polotitans pull their finger out and take the NHS off the election battle it is not needed and could well destroy it!!!!.

Election

Election, I would never have guessed that it is on, weeks and weeks of what we called in the army "Bull Shit", I was unfortunate to serve in the army when labour were in control, I can say it was not funny at all, men were leaving all over the place, we were paid a pittance and treated like scum, we had no representation in Parliament so we got the dirty bit of the stick, now I sit and listen to Labour telling me just how great they are, and they are ready to take power, it is only a few years since they had power anyway and what did they do with it then, the country was all but bankrupt, so I have to watch leaders saying that they will not join with other party's to form a coalition!!, No? just watch this space when there is what everyone expects a split government no one with overall control, so will the crazy SNP pull the strings, they seem to want everything they can possibly get, and not one thought for the cost to the UK,  or will the silly greens join in as well, one thing for sure we as English will end up paying the price for all this crap, the one thing we will never see is one of the Leaders actually telling the truth, there is as much chance as finding a chicken tooth!!!.

Last Nights Leaders Confrontation

I have to say I was very fortunate as I made a point of not watching this clap trap, I have unfortunately had to sit through news bulletins today, on and on about it, I was very surprised that the SNP managed to pull the wool over English Peoples eyes, she showed herself as some one who is so caring about the university students of England saying that courses should be free, the statement education should be the ability to learn not ability to pay, wonder full this is a person who has admitted that if we should vote for a conservative government she will do every thing to stop the Queens speech, meaning we would have to go to the polls again, the cost ??? where democracy??, the reality is that unless there is an overwhelming vote for the tory party we will have a fool as PM and backed by a party that hate us, this whole situation is so dangerous for us English, the Scots even though they decided to stay in the UK their leaders just can't accept it, and it has to be seen that the SNP leader will NOT be a MP, so how is it that she can dictate policy to us, I personally thought that staying with us was best but now they have shown their true colours, might be better for us to be one of three, how about us having a vote as to if we want to be joined with Scotland??, for me I would not want to accept some one who is not a MP or  MP party leader to be in control of our laws and taxes, it is not on so we have to be aware of the dangers we have looming over us as a people, Labour over the years of Blair and Brown tried to beat Englishness out of us I hope to god that it is  going to be remembered  when a vote is cast, but many will sit on their hands and the idiots will get in just watch!!.

NHS

It is really silly that the political parties have to use the NHS as a football, they should get out of it, the major problem is that the NHS is run by people who are not of a clinical background, so they are very protective of their jobs blaming every one but themselves, the polotitans speak with these people who would not give an honest answer whatever, the clinical staff (these are the most important) know what is wrong but have to keep their mouths shut on pain of loosing their jobs, so all the talk that they tell us about whistle blower's have no worries about their position in the NHS, that is what I say FAT CHANCE, they do not have a hope, they are seen as a problem for the hospital are then treated as such, messed about spoken down too and harassed, you have to remember that the whistle blower is saving you or your family, they see the mistakes! but are told that they should keep quiet or else!!, so if a hospital has a real problem with patient care and safety no one is going to say anything about it, you or one of your family just might die, unfortunately then it just might come out about possible mistakes made in the care, management of hospitals needs to have at least 45% if not more clinical staff running the clinical care needed, but no it will not happen, management group form a clan and anyone on the out side has no influence, many committees at hospitals have a patient representative,  but how much is listened to when they point out faults, I have to smile when the NHS talks about transparency but fails to deliver to the country, when caught out they fight tooth and nail to move the responsibility on to any possible thing that can be thought up to explain the problem away.

Look at the NHS, who do they employ as a nurse??, not some one who has spent time on the wards learning how to care, they employ people who have a degree!!, what use is a degree when a patient needs to be cleaned up, it needs a caring person who wants to care not some one who has spent time in a university not being able to be taught how to care, care is not in fact taught you either have it or you don't, as you move up the nursing ladder to dizzy heights you will have to have a masters degree what a load of tosh!!!, you need to be able to care, understand the wards needs and finally have to ensure patient safety,  you certainly do not need a degree or masters to be able and competent to do the job.

The next government should when it takes over should ensure that a top down review of services should be undertaken, and should involve more patient reps and many clinical people to ensure that the service runs correctly, and remove this overpowering stress put on staff to keep quiet when they see a problem.

The Election SNP

Just who does the SNP think they are??, they lost the vote last year but now the leaders are saying that they will defeat democracy by pushing the Labour leader as Prime Minister, what gives them the right to override the three other nations involved in the vote, they plan to break up the UK in a different way now that the vote is lost, now they will force Labour to allow them special treatment and an extra budget of £148 Billion just where would this money come from, reality says that if you owe money you have to pay it back in the end, we lived the high life when Labour were last in power are we going to go through it all again when their policies sink us into the mire, dare we allow Labour to get in?? can we the three quarters of this country called the UK allow one party with the backing of a party who without a doubt hate the lot of us but more specifically the English, the grass on the other side always looks greener but we well know that it isn't can you afford top take the chance, it matters that you vote for any Party but at this moment in time not Labour!!!!.

Cancer

Cancer, we all know how difficult life is for people who have any kind of cancer but why should they be seen quicker than any one else, many other illnesses need very quick treatment or you might die, so why is it that so much emphasis on this one condition, many do recover some will die, for all of my life time cancer research has begged money for their work, billions of pounds have been donated, the drug companies are the only people to benefit from this research, when they find a drug beneficial for a certain cancer the cost of the drug is momentous, meaning that rationing has to happen, drugs costing several thousands of pounds each month become unavailable through the NHS, all people in this country who have a condition needs to be seen and looked after not just one condition getting a better deal than all the rest.

The World

It is sad today to see all the problems of death and destruction in the world, much of it done as religious terrorism, as far as terrorism is concerned we in the UK a pretty safe, we do not suffer as much as people in other parts of the world, we are lucky we can walk the streets in some safety and have the right to say what we feel within reason, but many have not a hope in their own countries, they are limited to what they might say, whatever you might say can and often does bring retribution, possible death usually in a terrifying way, how can this be in todays day and age, it seems that half the world has progressed forward in leaps and bounds, but in others it has gone back to the dark ages, democracy is not allowed, criticism of the ruling people can bring nasty treatment not only for the alleged  offender but his/her family as well, beheading, stoning and throwing people of the top of buildings, we see this and sit on our hands and say its their problem but its not it is everyone's, the world has to decide just what is acceptable or not and ensure that the world conforms to the rules and enforce the rules with out fear.  

NHS Food

I know that we should be thank full for the service that we receive at times in our local hospitals, but there is a flaw in the care you receive, one of the most important things needed for recovery is good food that is quality, nutritious and looking just what they are supposed to look like, unfortunately many hospitals have gone over to cook chill food, from experience an 8 day stay in a hospital that is cook chill, what was my experience?, the food was disgusting, it looked disgusting, tasted disgusting, and the look on the plate was disgusting, so does hospital food assist in your recovery??, not a chance, I saw families bringing in food for patients because they just could not eat the food, some patients loose a considerable amount of weight when they are an inpatient the longer they are in the worse they get, it is just not on, James Martin the TV chef has been campaigning for several years about this problem, he has come up with some very acceptable food for hospitals, some will take this on and for once meet their commitments to the patient, some won't, do you know just what food you are likely to get?, because if you don't you just might get a very nasty surprise if you should be admitted to hospital.

Thoughts

Is any one else fed up with all the bull S**t on the telly about how well that all the MP's are going to look after all of us, just who do they think they are kidding, they have no intention of looking after us at all they may be think that is what they will do, but the whips will make sure they will do as they are told no matter what they might feel, when we elect people to represent us we are not, we are electing the party alone, it is like being in the army you follow orders, it matters not what might be best for your electors that matters not, we are ruled by faceless wonders who pull the strings, the job is not as well paid as everyone thinks so is it no wonder that they take on other jobs, the party system maybe is right but the only people who come out of it smelling of roses are public school pupils, who unfortunately have not the slightest idea as to how the normal person on the street lives, they have not the slightest idea as to the stress that they live under so consequently have no idea as to how to represent them in Parliament, I will be glad not to have to see all these self gratification clips on the news and go back to seeing real news.

Eastern Europe

Am I mistaken or has the little man been involved in another problem in Moscow, how can it be that a known dissident is murdered on the street, can be killed allegedly  by his own people as the little man insists, who ever it was they made sure he was dead no hope of recovery to embarrass the killers or killer, why should he die, what ever could be the reason, well he was about to lead a demonstration against the government, his complaint is that one man should not hold the power that the president of Russia does, he was about to bring this into the worlds press, so it seems to me that his own people would not be at all likely to kill him so who else is in the picture, if you take logic in to account who would be unhappy about this demonstration? well only one actual person, and possibly the high command in Russia, they would have the motive and the people who would carry out instructions to the letter, I am sure that one person made this decision, after all no one is allowed to speak against him, no freedom of speech no right at all in a what is only a dictatorship, one person rule!, one person decision, I will do as I want the rest of you be dammed!!, watch out the West!!.    

Disability

I have spent some time sorting and buying a mobility scooter that can be taken onto trains, I found one and was very pleased, I, once a month go to Manchester so I contacted East Coast Trains who I usually book passenger assistance from, I use their trains to Leeds then Trans Pennine Express to Manchester, it is no problem with East Coast my scooter is acceptable, but to travel on Trans Pennine Express you have to have a permit, they do not charge for it but you have to apply for it, unusually not on line,  you have to fill in a hard copy so you have to wait for it to arrive then fill the form in and send it back, again I was quite shocked to find out that they decide if they will allow you to travel, so here I am waiting for this form but it is of no help at this moment in time as I was to travel on Thursday this week but I can only travel on TPE Trains  if I dismantle the scooter and load it onto the  train as luggage, I did point out that I was disabled  that was why I need assistance, the scooter is needed this week  because of my ability to walk any distance has deteriorated but no good, no permit no travel, so good to be a disabled veteran.

Ukraine

It seems that the cease fire is in some cases up in the air, why is it that the rebels are not respecting the agreed rules of war, why is it that Russian tanks have been seen pouring into the Ukraine? would that be because a certain person has not as yet stopped pushing the west to see how far he can go??, if this is your assumption I believe you have it in one, why is it that Russian aircraft are testing the UK air space security?, why are Russian war ships using the English Channel rather than the Atlantic to get to their home base?, again a test of the Navy just to see how far they can push us before we respond and more importantly how quickly it happens, over the years once again we have reduced our armed forces, we are at risk, this at the moment is far more dangerous than IS in the middle east, the west is asleep, if we do not wake up soon we will sleep walk into conflict that will engulf the world all because we are not taking the Russian menace seriously!!, wake up and watch ask the MP's just what is happening and more importantly do they support increasing our military we managed last time but we would be run over if it should happen again.

The Ukraine

The Ukraine, peace talks what a joke, I see that people I the know say that the Russian Precedent could have stopped the fighting just like that but no they are still at it, the heavy tanks and personnel carriers were proudly flying the Russian Flag, not the rebel forces, how can the world sit and watch a sovereign country be attacked and split up by another without any help from the west, the Ukraine wanted to join the EU but Russia has decided that it does  not want an EU country wanting to belong to NATO, one man again with an axe to grind with the USA and all the west, knows he is destroying his country, financially they are going to the wall but that matters not he just has to be the big man in  the world, the only hope is that the Russia people vote him out but can that happen?, is he a president or a dictator? I know what I believe, but that is for you to decide.  

Middle East

So now we have 21 Christians dead by being beheaded, this is becoming a really nasty situation, this time it has to be a mistake by IS as all it has done is attract attack from Egypt, this is a government who are totally against the Muslim Brotherhood but even so they did not want to be associated with the west, but these deaths and the foul killing of the pilot that they captured has meant that  the Egyptian people who were against any sort of action by Egypt against IS, but now all that has now changed so 21 murderous  actions has drawn a retribution that we do not know what as yet, but for sure it will be nasty, when the pilot was murdered they immediately executed two convicted terrorists no threats just action, Egypt has stated that they will get even with the killers what ever it takes, if I was involved I would be worried very worried, Egypt is not a country to mess with so best of luck IS.  

Ukraine

Will the cease fire last that is the question, Russia tanks are moving forward not retreating as they should, they are still trying to grab land, some seem to think that Russia is pressing for an all out war!  he seems to want to try and impose his rule on the world, will it happen your guess is as good as mine, but I really hope to God that it does not happen, but history often repeats itself, a little man with big ideas, look back at the world wars both started by idiots who thought they could rule the world, I would have thought Germany and France having had bitter experience of little men would not have been involved in talks of peace, the poor president of the Ukraine could hardly look at the little man and he in return could not either, he has had to agree to things that are really unacceptable for his country but that matters not he has had to accept, the frightening word for me in all this is the word appeasement I seem to remember some one else waving a bit of paper about saying peace in our time only to see a world war break out soon after!, could this be the same thing all over again??. 

Benefit

David Cameron is looking at the possibility of stopping benefit for obese people who do not try to slim down, just how would you work this?, there is a problem with obesity in this country but it could be related to a very poor diet, we don't seem to promote cooking much anymore schools don't seem to want it, meaning that some girls leave school with no real idea as to how to prepare a meal, you only have to stand in Iceland or Farm Fresh and just see how much frozen food is purchased, all quick but most of all cheap, their  children become obese at a very early age, so what is the government up to, they have cut benefit to a minimum, meaning that many people are at their wits end as to how to survive, when you look at life today in this country, if you are unfortunate to not have a job you are derided as a waste of time, you are not one of these wonderful hard working people that the government keeps on about, you are a waste of the states money, no matter how hard you try you have no chance, benefit will be cut again this year, the elderly are in-between the devil and the deep blue sea, if they should go into care home they will loose all the money that they have prudently saved only to find that it has all gone, I heard a local councillor state that the council had NO responsibility for the elderly. and all council residential homes have closed so there is no public service for them at all, when you are young you think why bother but remember you will in no time at all be elderly then what??.

If the government  needs to raise money they should stop these accountants who spend their days concocting false accounts to enable  the  client to pay as little tax as possible, it is all well and good hitting people on benefit but when you allow some people who earn more money than some people will ever see, do not pay their way they are salting their money in offshore bank accounts and any other way that they can, these people are in my mind first in line make them pay the tax that we all have to pay, not a minimal amount because they have so much money they can employ an accountant to ensure this happens. 

The NHS

I have spoken many times about whistleblowing and the fact that the NHS treats its staff as criminals when they have the nerve to tell the world about awful treatment some patients receive while in the care of the NHS, yes it is an excellent service, but it has to be transparent, staff should not have to worry about pointing out problems they encounter while looking after patients, if the service is not up to standard the staff have the right to say so not for it to be buried and hidden from the public, as a patient we need to know what the treatment will be like when we are ill, if it is not up to standard we should know, that then gives us the patient information we need to know before we are admitted, it is too late when we are in there, but if staff are frightened to say anything we are all at risk, this is a management problem, dealt with by non clinical people who do not seem to be bothered by patient safety more the problem might reflect on the hospitals credibility, the required numbers are needed to show their competence it seems that patient safety/ treatment and experience are irrelevant to these people, they want to protect their jobs whatever the cost, the NHS has to protect the staff that have the nerve to report problems in service and no adverse comments or action taken against the staff member, this is how it is supposed to be but is not happening, it has to change and change now before we have another hospital who has multiple avoidable deaths. I have contacted my MP about this have you??.

Football

It must be about the sickest contract  that the FA have entered into for televising the Premier League, the princely sum of £5 billion for three years, it works out that SKY and BT are paying £10 million for each game that they show, that is just sick, don't tell me that this is not excessive it is, it is a disgrace to see so much money sloshing about in football, I heard today that it is acceptable for a footballer to earn £300,000 per week, you what!!!!, no man or women is worth that amount of money to play football, often two games a week what a hard job! yes they have to train but that still does not justify stupid mosey, the supporters have to take some of the blame though they pay silly prices to watch a team of their choice then they have travel costs to add in, excuse me aren't we in a recession? some people desperate for food having to go too food banks others paying out hundreds of pounds a week to watch a football match I don't know where they get the money from, as well they travel into Europe for cup matches so just where does the money come from?, where ever it is it is a waste as it just supports these money mad footballers, I have to wonder just how much tax they pay on this vast amount of money I bet there is a way where you pay next to nothing, the other thing in this debacle is the Agent who of course wants a massive cut of the deal, £5 billion would go a very long way to support so many people in this country who are in dire need and who are at their wits end, footballers should bow their heads in shame, it must be hard to live on an income of over £1 million a MONTH not a year that's £12 million plus, I despair!!!!

The NHS

The NHS again in the news, the Kings Fund has said that the collation government have totally messed up the NHS, the white paper presented to parliament at the beginning of the first term of the government is to blame for many of its ills, I have always said that this paper was the biggest mistake that any government had ever tried changing the way the NHS performs, there was no real need for the paper, yes the services needed to be reviewed and the management needed to be looked at, but to butcher the service was the height of stupidity by people who had no idea as to what it was all about, all the targets that were imposed were not likely to be realised, and were of no benefit to the patient, I remember seeing a consultant surgeon who after deciding to admit me had to sit and fill in forms for 35 mins 5 copies, one here, one there, this is a highly qualified man his time should be spent operating or looking after his patients not filling in stupid forms that are sent to different managers who just can't live without these forms, what a waste of time effort and money!!

The Ukrane

So Russia is not supplying the rebels in the Ukraine, just who's leg is Russia trying to pull, they are having talks with the EU (France & Germany), which I have just seen have failed, the Russians I believe are very happy to provide heavy weapons to the rebel army who are it seems solely Russian speaking people, but the sovereign state government of the Ukraine the Russians say are not to be allowed heavy weapons from the US, can the west keep backing down to Russia, it is time to give the Ukraine the weapons they need, there is no legal reason for Russia to inflict its rule on the Ukrainian people, the government is an elected one so are the legal law and order in the Ukraine, the rebels have set up their own police, and boarder crossings with their own flag, all of it illegal in world law, Russia is setting the world on a possible conflict East Verses West, we do not need another world war, it does not surprise me though I seem to many little men have often brought their countries to their knees not in the least bothering about human life, the conflict in the Ukraine is really in essence no difference to the conflict in the Middle East, one group inflicting their will on a people who have not the slightest choice in the outcome, they have to suffer death and destruction all because of a little man trying to tell the world he is a big hard man!!!.

The Health Service

For once I have read some good news but as always there are dissenters, the health service have decided to set up a trial with 10 GP surgeries around the country, all they need to do is to ensure immigrants have a European health card before treatment is given, and the details of these people be added to a data base so that the NHS can charge the country of origin can be sent the bill for any treatment they receive while in the UK, at the moment the service looses at least £400 million a year maybe far more because they do not recover the cost of treatment that these patients receive, we as a country pay other countries around £175 million a year to other EU countries for UK patients needing care, they pay us in return £17.5 million very much lob sided, to me that is a really good idea but as always there has to be someone who tries to shoot this down, a certain doctor says that this makes GP's a grass reporting their possible refusal of health services, he complains that they do not have the money to use on such a possible registrar, well I have some news for him, you just might have more money to look after patients if you weeded out these heath tourists at the very beginning ensuring we can get the money back from the country who is responsible for their care we as a country can't keep paying for everyone who decides that we are a soft touch, we have to snap down on this loss of cash now and I am afraid that GP's will have to grin and bear it!!!!.     

Middle East

So Jordon has retaliated and done it very quickly, I am not sure  that hanging two people is the right response but it is not surprising as IS had killed the Jordanian Pilot in such a horrific way, this tit for tat murder of people just has to stop at some point you can be sure though if you get rid of IS you will just get some form of replacement, it might take a while but it will all happen again, The wold is full of people who have a grudge against everyone, no matter what you do they will always come to the fore front, the problem for society is when a number of these people get together in a group and they obtain money, to be able to get arms is it seems simple, but to become a terrorist group you often need the support knowingly or not of a government especially if you want to use heavy weapons, you only need a cause that the rogue government can accept and off you go, you only have to look at the Ukraine!!, who is supplying the rebels with heavy weapons, you would have to be a fool not to realise that Russia sits right next door and the rebel terrorists separatists are of Russian persuasion, so in my mind it is Russia doing the dirty deed, the President of Russia  of course denies this of course but it is him, what is the intention of Russia in all of this?, it is to destabilise the Ukraine and to stop them Joining NATO, this is not by diplomatic peaceful way but by outright terrorism, so it is not just terrorist groups playing death and destruction to peaceful people but terrorist nations as well, so just how do you stop that??.

Snow

I live in the East of England, yesterday evening we had some snow I do mean some snow, but it causes havoc, schools not sure if they will open warnings of dangerous road surfaces, I went out in my car at 9.30 my street covered in snow as was my car, I was worried that I would be late for a 10am appointment at my doctors, on leaving my street it started to clear and coming to the T junction the road was clear not one bit of snow anywhere, that was the same the whole way of my journey, so I ended up a quarter of an hour early, on my way home it was just the same, so all the worry about the weather I had listened too was a waste of time, I feel that it is about time we did not react every time snow falls the amount we get is negligible it is fairly easy to drive you just have to make adjustments to your driving, simple really go slower no hard braking just take care and all is well, but for some reason we just cant do it for some reason!!.
