The NHS

Now I have written many times about my support of the NHS, but I am sorry to say that the service I received on Sunday morning, a bit of background first, I have spent some time in hospital over the past year, I have heart and kidney failure, diabetes insulin dependent, problems with my thyroid gland, so I have a build up of fluid on my legs, I am taking medication for this but on Saturday both legs started leaking fluid and as in the past I have seen a nurse at my GP's surgery but being Sunday morning I felt that I needed to have the legs dressed, so not wishing to go to A&E I went to the minor injuries unit, I was seen and told that it was a nurse led service and it was not their job to do, and that the  NHS had not got the resources to do it for me, I was told to go and see my GP on Monday (bank holiday) so go on Tuesday, if I was not happy ring 111 and speak to them, we are forever told to use these services but it seems that only if you have certain problems, so it seems I am not to go to A&E, nor the minor injuries unit, it makes me laugh that we are fore ever being told that the government wants a seven day service, but some staff are not doing that with the excuse that they are short of money, I have paid into the health service since starting work  in 1961 so might I expect to be looked after or not???????.

Immigration

I have to ask why we can't operate a immigration policy like Australia?, would it be so difficult, entry to the UK would be by a sponsor in the UK who provides a job and accommodation, yes we should have some people coming to this country but only the ones that benefit the UK, is it right that a Romanian family of 17 should be allowed to demand bigger accommodation for them, the benefit that they are claiming is they say £56K per year, this can't be right surely the EU can't say this is an acceptable situation for this country!!!!, what will happen when other countries join the EU up to 88 million people will be able to come to the UK, I am sorry to say that reality says we would just not be able to cope with any further influx of migrants, if the vote is stay God help us all especially our children because they will have to deal with it!!!.

Has the Uk Gone MAD ??

I have to say that  our leaders who want us to stay in the EU have decided to send out a leaflet to every household telling us how we should vote, I believe that the population is very understanding of how you should vote, we know that we go in to the voting  station, you get your vote and you vote for what you want. But for some reason the government have decided we are all illiterate and have to be told how to vote, so my tax is being wasted on such a stupid waste of time, I will send mine to Downing Street and pay postage as I do not want my taxes wasted again.

Referendum

Its a shame that the EU is blocking out virtually all the news, so much going on but seems to not be important, it is time for the leaders regarding the referendum to shut up and not keep trying to frighten everyone to death, it is galling to see and hear the clap trap that is being thrown about, and it seems that the Tory's are beginning to fall apart, Boris is causing mayhem, and the PM and Chancellor are trying to belittle the Leave group, the problem as I see it is that many young people will vote to stay, why is that?, it's because they have no idea as to the deviousness of the political elite, they believe the rubbish being thrown at them and they think that they know best, unfortunately most of them can be led to the vote by the nose and vote how they are told, I hear them say that they see themselves as Europeans how silly is that?, the country of origin deserves to be who you are, the French see themselves as French, the Dutch see them selves as Dutch, but our young people do not see themselves as British, that is a real shame, if young people should look into the past two world wars, we were not part of Europe then but our young jumped at the chance of defending this country, but not to defend England but to support the French, we lost our whole army on the fields of France, so millions more joined and died, the cost to the UK millions of £'s of debt, the second world war the US provided lease weapons  that we were still paying for years later, Why do we not just leave them to get on with it, when you vote you are making a decision as to what your nationality is either European or British/English/Scottish/
Welsh or Irish, I know what I am and I am very proud the it, never call me European that is the greatest insult you could level at me.

EU

It seems that every time I think that we might just have a quiet day over the EU more crap comes out, now that the Governor of the Bank of England  comes out with how dangerous that it would be for us to leave, he is Canadian, another out sider poking their nose in, but it seems that the world and his dog are telling us to stay, a compelling argument to stay was the fact on TV that I heard today that if we should leave our energy bills would rise!!! by how much they were asked £20 a year was the reply, well if you ask me some one is scraping the bottom of the barrel, whatever anyone tells me I am not for one minuet European I am English at a push British I do not personally wish to travel Europe, I do not want to emigrate to Europe, I wish to live in a country that looks after my best interest, with the opportunity that if I don't agree with the party line I can vote against them at the next vote, I do not want to have some non descript idiot in Brussels telling me how to behave, we are an island we do not have room for more and more immigration, if it carry's on as it is likely to go bang!!!!.

Invictus Games

I have watched our injured servicemen this week and as an ex Royal Engineer it makes me proud to see these men show just what they can do, lost legs, arms and some times all four, this can be seen and recognised but many have mental problems that can't be seen but still as disabling, it is great to see these men represent their country once more and many taking Gold, we as a country should be proud of them and look after them in their health and well being, being a member of the armed forces is joining a family, you learn to look after yourself, keep yourself clean and your equipment, cook in the field, iron, polish and become part of a team, it is not easy it is in fact very hard, but you can be proud of the person you are, you never leave the family, you again become a civilian but things are then different for you life changes and at times become difficult to relate to the public, it takes a long time before you can feel at home if ever you do, you never forget the years you served and so seeing these men perform as they have brings tears to my eye's, they are a credit to this country!!!!!!!!!.

The EU again

It depresses me every time I see the news and see the Bull S*** being given us for the referendum it makes me sick, I remember well hearing a director of council services tell a colleague  when asked how he was going to deal with the new councillors that had just been elected he replied "Oh no problem I will treat them as mushrooms" the colleague ask what that meant and the reply was " I will keep them in the dark and feed them horse S***", from that day on I never trusted any officer I came in to contact with and always ensured any reply I wanted was given me in writing so that there  was no wriggle room, so all this rhetoric regarding the vote coming up, it is impossible to pull apart truth from lie, as much of it is, we now not only have we to listen to our own people we have the World butting in telling us how to vote why??, Europeans have always fought each other in the past and will no doubt will again in the future, so where does that put us?, if we stay in we will because of our political leanings end up in the middle of  it, putting us in to enormous debt and many dead soldiers, is that we want for our kids or do we leave? and when anything should happen in Europe we can sit and let them get on with it, and also we can close our doors to all the dross in the world  who come here and think we owe them a living.

Election

I am so pleased that it is over, I remember in my youth when election time came round we used to be harassed to death with leaflets and knocks on the door, my mum used to answer the door and no matter who it was she would say she was voting for them, I was a councillor in the 1990's, to get elected you spent a considerable amount of time canvasing and delivering leaflets, it was hard work, when I was elected it got harder as every month we delivered a leaflet to every house in the ward, 2 surgery's a week and your phone number available to any one in the ward and often some from outside the ward, you were accessible 24 hours a day 7 days a week 365 days a year.
Now in the ward we have a councillor's who never to be seen, no election promotion for them, no knocking on the door, nothing no effort to gain a seat, but success that is undeserved, with that in mind I registered for the election as a candidate, did absolutely nothing at all and received 598 votes, it amuses me that this amount of people voted for me, so it just goes to show now it really matters not what you might represent you can affect the vote just by being a paper candidate, people are so reticent to elections that most take no interest at all if  they do vote they might just be a toss up as to who gets the cross.
I just hope that many will vote in the EU referendum, and I hope very much for them to vote Leave, but it is frightening fact that most will in fact sit on their hands and do nothing, this is a vote for our kids, do we want them to live as a state in the EU, or stay British????, without  a doubt if we decide wrong we shackle our kids to who knows what!!!!!!, can you not VOTE ???????.
