Life

Just how long can the government go on bleeding the poor of this country, you have to laugh they say that no one is manipulating petrol prices, yes some one is it stands to reason, the petrol retailers can't explain where a 1p increase has come from so who is making this massive profit out of the motorist?, now I have an idea, when the price of petrol rises the level of tax should decrease by the same amount to keep the cost of fuel at a reasonable level, £1 per Ltr would be an acceptable level, so many companies making vast profits in this country but not paying the correct level of tax vast amounts of money leaving this country that should in fact be paid to the public purse, we as tax payers of this country are being strangled to the limit, no jobs and little help from this government, many will be homeless and living on the streets through no fault of their own, it is time that the top MP's should be made to live on an income that we at the bottom have to contend with, but of course not a hope, but worst of all they have the nerve to say that they understand, well I have a little news for them they DON'T!!.

NHS

Well I have to say that I am once again less than impressed with the health service, last Monday I ordered drugs that I take for angina, when they had not arrived on Friday and only having two tablets left I rang the chemist to ask where they were, now I have to explain something here, I had had a large build up of these drugs and in August last year I asked that they did not order anymore till I asked, but it seems that when the chemist requested the drug for me the GP's surgery decided as I had not had it since last August I was not entitled to it, that is fine, but if that is the case should they not tell the chemist or me!, but No nothing till I was told by the chemist that the surgery would not provide a prescription for me, so in a bit of a temper I rang the surgery asking why they had refused to ensure I had the story right, I had!, someone sitting in front of a computer had decided that I was not entitled to the drug, not a medical person but one of the office staff, the second I said who I was the prescription was set in motion and that it would be faxed to my chemist within the hour, so you would think that was the end but no, this morning I took my last two tablets so I rang the chemist asking where my drugs were and would they be delivered today, the answer was No they did not have the prescription so could not give me the drugs, after pointing out they were needed for my heart the agreed to issue an emergency amount to get me through to Monday but I had to fetch them, ruined my one day of not having to drive, not in the least lousy service will take it up on Monday.

Peterborough City Council

It has to be said that Peterborough Councillors and the Council itself are seeming to forget that the care of the elderly is their responsibility, you can't abdicate it, anyone involved in social care from the Cabinet to the director of service (and I deliberately leave the D in lower case as that is what the job deserves), they are a disgrace to put people in fear and to believe that all the elderly are computer literate is for a start idiotic, the people who are at need of care most who had to live through World War 2 to allow us freedom, they lost their mums and dads some their sons and husbands, and what do today's councillors do Abuse them, I have thought many times what life might be like when I became a pensioner, well I am there now and I can assure you that in this city it is becoming a real nightmare, I should remind the councillors involved and the officers that what goes around comes around so beware you will be old soon it comes all of a sudden and then you will be on the scrap heap then you will find out just what it means to be old!!!.

NHS

My daughter went to her GP on Monday, the nurse changed her dressings and I must say that the foot looked very good, you could see the care that the surgeon had taken to work on her ankle so at the moment very pleased.

Now more serious Syria, just how can this keep going on??, it has to be sorted out soon, again I see that the government have bombed civilians killing many children, the kids do not deserve this it has to stop.

The French are now involved in a war with islamists in Mali, so we are now helping by providing transport planes, why are we doing this??, it takes these aircraft out of service for the RAF, meaning they can't transport supplies for our army, we do not need to be involved in this it will become just the excuse that terrorists could use to set off bombs in the UK, we have enough problem as it is with out tempting providence!, so lets get out of it and get back to supporting our army not the French.

NHS

My daughter went down at 3.30pm finished at 6.15pm, she was awake during most of the surgery but was put to sleep nearing the end of the two procedures, hopefully this will be the end but it might not be we will just have to wait to see, had to go rushing out this morning to rent a wheel chair good value really £20 for ten days, just got it in time, she was discharged but had to wait for her medication, nurses said that they are only allowed to ring the pharmacy ONCE, and more is considered harassment, that means the patient waiting to go home is held waiting on the whim of the pharmacist on duty, so instead of leaving at 10.30am she was finally allowed to come home at 1.15pm a bit of a joke really, there must be a quicker way for this to be done, most patients when told they are to be discharged are ready in a trice to leave, but then the pharmacy holds everything up, it can't be that difficult they only dispense as few an amount that they can get away with so it can't be that difficult, and as they are behind closed doors that says it all. Any way she is home now six weeks to go , starts on Monday visit to the GP, then a further visit to the hospital in two weeks so Hey Ho here we go.

NHS

Well took my daughter to the hospital at 9.50am, my wife went with her, decision taken to operate, finally went down at 3.30pm, maybe have two different procedures but that will be up to the surgeon when he sees what is what, hopefully this could be the end of her pain but if not it will be a long road before she is able to walk with no pain.
We have the grandchildren with us tonight, not good really as we are both very stressed at the moment, trying to get sorted out with food for them and a wheel chair for my daughter, more to follow.

NHS

Well life can be fraught can't it?, my daughter has been wearing a plaster cast on her ankle for the best part of seven weeks,  on Monday when she went to the hospital to have the cast removed her expectation was very high!, she had made plans to do all sorts of things, but of course that is too easy, they took the plaster off and did an x-ray and found that the bits of bone that were in her ankle when she first attended the hospital were still there, necessitating an emergency operation tomorrow, she will then be in plaster for six to seven weeks so it is start again, the prognosis is a 50% chance of it succeeding but the chance has to be taken, but I want to know just how we got to this point, from one nurse and three doctors telling her that it was a soft tissue injury!, to this consultant saying she needs emergency surgery, it just makes you think do hospital employees have the slightest knowledge as to what they are doing, it has been suggested that the word care has gone from the vocabulary of nurses and doctors, if it has may I suggest that they find a dictionary and look the word care up then they might just keep on the right side of the patient who of course in all of this is the most important factor, I pray that all will go well for her, will add to this on Saturday.

Government

Do Mr Cameron and Clegg really think they are sorting out the financial ills of the country because if they do I have news for them, you can't keep cutting benefit or you will in the end save more money that you think because so many will actually die!, because they just will not have the money to survive, these will unfortunately be elderly people the young will find a way to survive, these old people have paid their dues, have in most cases been involved in a war, but will not complain, we know that so why do we put them under pressure and make them feel guilty for taking any form of benefit, we as a nation should be ashamed firstly that we treat them as second class people and secondly allow the government to actually deprive them of their old age.

Here We Are

I just do not know what the heck has been going on, many things I have wanted to blog on but I just could not get on the site.
Tonight for a change I have managed it, and would you believe I am having a problem putting some words together, my daughter has just spent seven weeks in plaster on her ankle, so she has not been able to drive, so I have had to take the kids to school for five weeks, today she went to the fracture clinic to she thought to have the plaster removed, fat chance, another NHS mess up, she has had the plaster on for no reason, the problem with her ankle is that there are two bits of bone floating about in the ankle, she now needs an emergency operation, also has to have a MRI scan ASP, she will be inactive for 6 to 7 weeks so I have to do the school run as from tomorrow once again, a big thank you NHS. I have to say it is not in the least funny!, she has been in serious pain for so many weeks, these pieces of bone were known about seven weeks ago, if she needs and emergency operation now should she not have had it at the very beginning? or am I expecting too much?.

Syria/OAP's

It makes me laugh, 60,000 have died, possibly 147,000 but that can't be ascertained it seems that the only way to get the correct numbers is by cross referencing, well does it really matter how many?, we know that children are dying on the streets in their homes so who really cares about the actual numbers?. the fact is that we as a World are letting these people down!, I am not expecting the Western troops to get involved but soldiers from the Middle East could act as a intermediary force to sort this total mess out, it can't go on for another year it has to stop and stop now!.

Being Old, it comes to us all!, and it arrives before you know it, it is difficult to survive, gas, electric, council tax and water all have to be paid, little in a lot out, please understand I am not bleating on my behalf, I manage these bills at the moment!, but just how many don't?, people found in their houses/flats dead for weeks, what does that say about us?, how can we continue on this track, why is it that councillors and MP's seem to think that because a few pensioners have a few bob lets take it off them, these are people with the better pension pot!, it is all well and good having a go at the elderly but you must remember that it will not be long before you are in that group, and the saying what goes around comes around so people in authority beware it just might bite back, and the bum is a very tender place to be bitten.
