NHS
Well I have to say that I am once again less than impressed with the health service, last Monday I ordered drugs that I take for angina, when they had not arrived on Friday and only having two tablets left I rang the chemist to ask where they were, now I have to explain something here, I had had a large build up of these drugs and in August last year I asked that they did not order anymore till I asked, but it seems that when the chemist requested the drug for me the GP's surgery decided as I had not had it since last August I was not entitled to it, that is fine, but if that is the case should they not tell the chemist or me!, but No nothing till I was told by the chemist that the surgery would not provide a prescription for me, so in a bit of a temper I rang the surgery asking why they had refused to ensure I had the story right, I had!, someone sitting in front of a computer had decided that I was not entitled to the drug, not a medical person but one of the office staff, the second I said who I was the prescription was set in motion and that it would be faxed to my chemist within the hour, so you would think that was the end but no, this morning I took my last two tablets so I rang the chemist asking where my drugs were and would they be delivered today, the answer was No they did not have the prescription so could not give me the drugs, after pointing out they were needed for my heart the agreed to issue an emergency amount to get me through to Monday but I had to fetch them, ruined my one day of not having to drive, not in the least lousy service will take it up on Monday.
