Regarding yesterdays blog, I saw a certain minister on TV this morning back tracking, he stated that he had no intention to take away bus passes or winter fuel allowance from the elderly, he said that he was misquoted that seems to be a normal occurrence when politicians open their mouths before engaging their brain, or has it anything to do with the local elections this week, just me being a bit of a cynic, but my experience as a local city councillor made me that way, 4 years of Bull S*** taught me many lessons, mainly one of not believing a word that was said to me, I have to say it helped me no end, word soon got round that I was one not to be messed with, but I have to say I was so glad to get off, it was a roundabout that I was not happy on and one that made me feel physically sick on occasions having to watch the stupidity of many of my colleagues, I would recommend to anyone to go to a council meeting and just see what your local councillor gets up to, watch the two main party's sitting opposite each other and you can be sure that whoever proposes a motion the other side will vote against it, you can all but see the chief whip pull a handle and up go his members hands, some that I knew sat in the chamber and never said a word like rabbits in a cars headlights, one thing for sure you can't trust a politicians but be aware that many of his statements to you are provided by the councils officers so hat does that say to you?.

Old Age
It is great to see our leaders asking us to give what little money we get, we as OAP's have no way of adding to our income, some of us are not able to work anymore, illness hits many, old age is not a great place to be, things get unmanageable, difficult to walk, heart conditions and of course diabetes, cancer seems to be prevalent in the elderly, so where does our leaders think we can manage to give back our laughingly called benefits, I have said before and I will say again we have paid in for 50 years tax and national insurance, so where is the benefit?, there isn't one, we only get what we consider a right, if you are fairly young I can assure you, you will not like to be attacked by whoever your government might be at the time you reach old age, I agree if you are a millionaire possible you do not need it, but to ask the elderly as a whole will be a national disgrace, I see that the Liberals suggest that there is a means test a shame on them, may I respectfully suggest that there are many other places that savings can be made and many of us know just where that is, if we had a more proactive attack on the people who are fraudulently taking money from the government we know it is going on so why is it the government doesn't ??, it is time that we are left alone in our twilight years we do not need the stress, I certainly don't.

Syria
Now what?, the government has used chemical weapon's against the fighters, I have to say that there are now so many groups trying to take control I am beginning to loose faith with them, I am all for the indigenous population having democracy, the problem is that so many different groups have joined in but not for freedom, many of these groups, would if they can, take control, will oppress the population even more than they are now, the Muslim brotherhood are there as they seem to be all over the middle East, but that does not justify the use of chemical weapon's, Obama has said that the use of the weapon's would be a step over the red line, whatever that means, but the US has said that they will not be sending soldiers into the fray, so how do you stop this mayhem, it has to be remembered that Syria was a friend of the West, they would not tolerate terrorists using Syria as a base, so where are we now, well according to the news we will do nothing, just as usual we and the West will no doubt sit on there hands and say this is a difficult situation "whatever shall we do?" wait and see it might go away, the other nasty thing is that several of the mercenaries are of British origin and at some point will return to the UK, they will for me be very dangerous people, we could stop them re entering the UK and tell them that they are not wanted here, you can bet your life they will be let back in and no doubt claim benefit!, what a joke that would be!!!.

Disability Living Allowance
I am now fully aware of the stupidity of the DWP, answering appeals 20 days before they are actually requested, saying that it will take up to 11 weeks but managed 2 days, this is for someone who suffers from severe ADHD with autistic tendency's, was accepted for benefit for the past two years now not a chance in hell according to the DWP, so what is this all about?, I understood that no one who was in need would not be affected, but that is just not the case, it seems that some pompous prat at the end of a phone is there solely to ensure that you do not get the benefit you need, I have to ask are they on a commission?, do they get a cut in what they save the government?, I have to take issue with the government, this is not an issue of ensuring people do not get more benefit than a working person, the refusal of benefit in this case has nothing to do with how much more than a working person gets as this person happens to be a schoolchild!!!!.

Sharia Law
It is a disgrace that the last labour government failed to act to stop centre's being set up throughout the country, for a start it is illegal, the law of the UK is the only law that is relevant in this country, there is no room for religious law, it is acceptable that a religion applies certain rules by which the members are expected to conform to, but in this country it can't be implemented as a law, so is it not time that the government tells these councils to stop holding sharia law cases they are not valid, and I was not aware that marriages that are performed under sharia law are not recognised in this country so women can't go for a divorce to the civil courts, I have to ask are benefit claimant's claiming as married or a both partners as single?.
According to the BBC program last night, women wanting a divorce under sharia law have to pay a fee about £400 the male does not pay anything, that seems to me to be an illegal act for one, then we have the fact that the women have no right to half of the assets of the marriage, so we have a law being implemented in this country that is in its self illegal, so is it not time for the government to take action to close these councils down, but I forgot this is a religious law and we have to accept it or be deemed to be racist, the government which ever colour are frightened to death of these people so no doubt they will carry on making illegal judgments with impunity as no one dares to rock the boat..

NHS
2000 nurses have been polled regarding staffing on their wards, all of them said that the ward was grossly understaffed, now then if this is the case why is it that the government will not agree to a minimum staffing for wards in hospitals, seems a bit silly to play about with patient lives, why should we be put at risk?, if nurses say it is not acceptable "it is not Acceptable", so many people that I speak to are frightened to death to be admitted to their local hospital, that is not acceptable situation, we are people not cattle mind you some people think that cattle get a better deal than they do by going to their hospital, many ideas have been thrown about but have not worked as they should, i.e. choose and book and 18 weeks, just have not worked, so what of the future?, it is going to be a bit bleak, the appointments system is a real joke and I would very much like to know what research has been done into the patients who do not attend, there has to be a reason be it good or bad, working this out would save a considerable amount of money, but I have never seen any answer to this problem I would really like to know.

Syria
Well the funeral is now all over so I will get back to my rant about Syria, Children to me are the most important things in the World, so for a country to progress it has to nurture its children educate them and surround them with love, so why is it that in Syria children are abused killed out of hand with no more thought than chucking a fag end in the gutter, some have had to see their mother and sisters raped and killed and have had to watch their Dads murdered in the street, where is the justice in all this?, why should the children be put through this mayhem?, it is a sad series of events that has gotten us here so we need a series of events to rectify this unacceptable situation and we need them now, many countries could help so why don't they?, it is for the Arab Nations to sort this mess out not the West and they need to do it now.

NHS
Have you heard that the NHS has a massive shortage of nurses?, why? the NHS says that it is because so many nurses have taken early retirement, many only 50 years of age, what are we asked to believe is that even though there is this massive shortfall in staff we are told that there is no reduction in service to the patient, please do not make me laugh!, of course this has to have an adverse effect on patient care, why is it we are treated by some in the NHS as total idiots!!, well I have a little news for them I for one is looking at what is going on and I will rattle the cage till you become a little more honest, the government has told the NHS to make savings of £20 billion, so just how do you save this amount?, it has to affect patient care, lack of staff = tired staff this then resorts into lack of care because of lack of time because of lack of staff, it is not surprising that so many mistakes are being made, you can only make so many cuts before service declines, ward closures clinic reductions, so many more problems, if you work for the NHS can you be sure of your future?, I think not, so just what is the future of the NHS?, it seems that it has been put on a slippery slope that is gathering speed to destruction, remember we pay National Insurance for this service and your pension, but without quality NHS care will you live long enough to get your pension?, maybe this is a plan to save money in the future!!, who knows?.
So many questions but very few answers.

Syria
You might not know but I am a supporter of UNICEF, specifically Children, I have to ask would you be happy to see your children be short of food, clothing and to be safe?, no of course you wouldn't, but here we are many children in Syria living on the absolute bread line, many have had to watch their parents be raped and murdered, just how sick is that?, why is it that so many adults can pay no attention to the feelings of small children?, I have said many times about this situation, children are the future of the country, any country in fact, Syria will be missing a generation because of the conflict now happening, government have to help and show some compassion towards these children before it is too late.

Mrs Thatcher
I just can't believe the nasty vindictive rhetoric spewing out about Mrs Thatcher, some I have seen are young people, what do they know about just what was happening when she came to power, but they manage to make statements that are untrue, nasty in the extreme they should be ashamed of themselves, they have been wound up by left wing activists, lets remember yes she made mistakes but she did at least one thing that was to the benefit of council tenants she let us buy our houses with a guaranteed mortgage, many who took this gift and gift it was as you got a massive reduction in the price of your house depending on how long you had lived in it, I for one benefited from this scheme, at the time I could have never have afforded it as it was but with the reduction I was paying less for the mortgage than I was paying for rent so I have to say a very big thank you Mrs T you did helpe me and I thank you for it, but I was only one of thousands and thousands who brought their houses this way and many sold up making a very nice profit thank you very much, but these people are very quiet now they have lost their voices, sad really, we have to realise that the eyes of the World are upon us just what are we telling the WORLD??, well we are telling them that we are a nasty vindictive bunch who have little or no respect for the dead, I want no part of it they do not speak for me, I am ashamed to be British.

Mrs Thatcher
I blogged yesterday about Mrs T, I find it very sad that some have found the need to demonstrate their hatred in the press and on some streets, it is the left that are the most venomous, I lived through the 80's had to watch Scargill bring down the unions, I was sick to death watching the strikes happening all round me, we needed someone to sort the mayhem out and she did it, the coal industry in all honesty was loosing money hand over fist so it was not financially viable, so just what did the NUM expect, as with so many Unions who spent their time disrupting industry with lightening strikes that benefited no one let alone the men, the union barons seemed to think they were untouchable they had been left alone by the Labour government ending in the winter of discontent, and it has to be asked who else would have gone and taken back the Falklands back from Argentina?, no one!, there was no one else who had the bottle, when she became the PM we were the laughing stock of the World, she turned that round and made us a major player, I accept that not every one feels any compassion to her and her family but death comes to us all and it is a requirement of all to show a little respect to her and her family, having placards that say "death to the bitch" is not an acceptable situation, it will do us no good in the world for other countries to see some in this country showing total disrespect to a former world leader, some I notice are so young as to have no idea as to what life was like before and after her term of office, so to show such disrespect by the young is not acceptable, if you have no experience of the event you should keep quiet!.

Sad Day
I know that many will not be sorry to see the death of Mrs Thatcher today, but it has to be said that she defended ENGLAND from all and sundry, and was the only PM that had the bottle to see off Argentina, I find it very sad to see her passing RIP.
More children again dying in the Middle East conflicts, this time NATO it seems carries the blame, it has to stop it just has to.
Been in all day today, not well woke up feeling very unwell, blocked up nose lots of coughing and lots of pain all over, so have been laid low all day.

Syria
I have written many times about the children in Syria, it is so sad that we in the West can sit and watch these poor souls being abused by sick adults who should know better, UNICEF are appealing for a donation of £3 for this very important cause, children are being murdered, and have to watch their parents being murdered to be left orphaned, in this day and age is it right that this can happen?, of course not, we should be ashamed as should our MP's who have done little to help, we need to make our voice known louder and stronger before it is to late.

The NHS
For once the government have, I hope been honest, the NHS is loosing many millions of pounds, not on staff, not on patients that live in this country but health tourists, how is this possible?, because we are with out a doubt a soft touch, we are seen in the World today a country that can be conned out of just about anything, why? is it that these people can con the NHS out of major services, I am not talking about minor injuries but in some cases very serious conditions the word FREE is what attracts these people any service they receive the NHS has to ensure that they can extract payment, either ability to pay for the service that they receive personally, or their government can be billed for the service, this abuse has to stop and stop now, all the health reforms that have just been implemented has is seems not taken into account this fact, why should these people get free treatment??. It is in fact not free as we all pay for it through National Insurance as this is towards your pension so a pension is NOT a benefit!!!.
Just to support this I will relate a short story, a friend of mine went to Spain for his holiday, within a few days his wife had a heart attack, on arrival at hospital he had to provide a means to pay for her care, consequently he had to pay on his credit card, the truth is no pay no treatment, so if we are not able to get help when on holiday without paying for it why do we allow these tourists get it for free??.

Benefit
The government would have you believe that they spend £200 billion a year on benefit claims, that is very untrue, pensions are included in this some £82 billion, when will the government get it into their heads this is not a benefit it is a right we have paid in over 50 years so how can it possibly be a benefit? a resounding NO. Well the joke starts today but millions will not be laughing at all, 660,000 people who are affected by the bedroom tax could not down size even if they wanted to, they say that there are only 13,600 smaller properties that they could move to, so as the social housing provider can't offer accommodation, should they not have to pay the tax for the tenant?, this is a real problem for the poor, so if you are sitting in your cosy house thinking why should I bother?, well you ought to you just might be out of work at any time and who will pay your mortgage for you?, so beware there but the grace of God go I !!!.
