OAP

Regarding yesterdays blog, I saw a certain minister on TV this morning back tracking, he stated that he had no intention to take away bus passes or winter fuel allowance from the elderly, he said that he was misquoted that seems to be a normal occurrence when politicians open their mouths before engaging their brain, or has it anything to do with the local elections this week, just me being a bit of a cynic, but my experience as a local  city councillor made me that way, 4 years of Bull S***  taught me many lessons, mainly one of not believing a word that was said to me, I have to say it helped me no end, word soon got round that I was one not to be messed with, but I have to say I was so glad to get off, it was a roundabout that I was not happy on and one that made me feel physically sick on occasions having to watch the stupidity of many of my colleagues, I would recommend to anyone to go to a council meeting and just see what your local councillor gets up to, watch the two main party's sitting opposite each other and you can be sure that whoever proposes a motion the other side will vote against it, you can all but see the chief whip pull a handle and up go his members hands, some that I knew sat in the chamber and never said a word like rabbits in a cars headlights, one thing for sure you can't trust a politicians but be aware that many of his statements to you are provided by the councils officers so hat does that say to you?.
