My Blog

It has been a very frustrating time for me, it seems that I am totally unable to use my laptop to get onto my Blog, the only way is by using my PC, I thought it was because I am using windows 8 but it is on both machines so can't be.

Not been very well over then past few days rotten blocked nose and a really nasty cough, but keep on going, went to a Pantomime yesterday afternoon, not bad but the lack of skill and ability of the cast makes no difference for the kids, who I might add had a wail of a time, one fly in the ointment 5 tubs small of ice cream £2.50 each a bit steep I thought, by the end of the evening I was light of £100, seems a bit pricey but you can't say that to the kids.

Death seems to be ever present in the World, the young lady in India Gang Raped on a bus including the driver just what is going on, there is a rape every 14 hours in India, how can this be happening?, why is it Indian and Pakistani men have such a disrespectful attitude towards women?, it is time that they learned that it is not acceptable to treat women any differently than they would treat a male, but we in the UK are as much to blame, we know that some young women are forced to marry, some have been killed because they have dared to cross the farther and mother, Honor killings my foot they are just plain "murder", no excuse as it is how we used to live, all women are free in the UK no one has the right to inflict harm on them, no one owns them, they are free and it is about time that our leaders got up and told the people in this country that this is the case and abuse will not be accepted whoever might be the perpetrator, this has to stop and stop now.

I am back

I have not got the slightest idea as to why I have not been able to post my blog but I just have not been able to access my this page for some time.

Well here we go, I have to say that the NHS is in turmoil, the new commissioning groups will if they are not very careful be the death of our hospitals, the trouble with going out to the private sector allowing them to submit bids for services is I believed flawed, the acceptance of "cheaper is better" is a fallacy, just because it is cheep does not in the least make it better, the main thought should be what is the very best service that can be set up for the cost be it more or less, the services have to be of a good standard, how can the private bidder show or prove that?, the hospital has a cost that it has to factor into the bid that makes it very unfair on them, are we going to watch the service become a private led NHS, hospitals closing and going bankrupt, you might think I am talking rubbish, but watch out you can't say you have not been warned!!!.

Life

So we have the stupidity over for the time being, it is not before time, but I am having difficulty accepting that the cease fire will  hold, after all the peace broker is  Egyptian and a Muslim, I  really can't see just what is going on, so my cynical mind tells me that Israel does not call up its reserve troops for no reason, they may have agreed to this cease fire but I would be very careful as to what I should do if I was in Gaza, I do not believe that the Muslim factions will  be able to hold their fire, it to me is just a massive tinder box, one spark and off it will go, but for the time being at least the children are safe on both sides, lets hope it stays that way!!.

Middle East

I am getting sick of watching the TV News, never ending death and destruction, now we have Israel giving it to Hezbollah not surprising really as they keep lobbing rockets in to Israel what else can they expect, you just know how Israel will respond, so where are we at?, Iran with the bomb!!, if not now very soon, Syria I am sure making the most of what is going on further afield, there is one thing for sure people are dying, you as a person might have religious convictions and death is acceptable to you but that is very good of you that is your personal acceptance of the consequences of your actions but why oh why do you expect everyone to be involved in your war, we are not interested we want to live another day, you can go and meet your maker but please do not take me and others with you !!!!!.

NHS

So up to yet after thousands of NHS staff have lost their jobs, the Government still say that there is no drop in patient care, now pardon me!, if you reduce staff service has to drop, it is common sense but of course the people in power lack that ability to recognise the rising problems, so where are we going well it has to be said up the creek without a paddle, you can cut so much but then service starts to fall its just how it is, soon we will have clinical commissioning groups GP led, what if they feel that the service offered by the hospital are not how they want, they have to put the service out to tender, if the hospital should loose several major  contracts just what do you think will happen, the hospital without a doubt will be bankrupt, just how is this protecting the NHS I have no idea, I am just bothered that this is the end as we know it!!, just to add I do not and never have worked for the NHS.

NHS / Incapacity Benefit

So many problems, the NHS in turmoil, whatever you might think it is in one hell of a mess, I look at Hinchingbrook Hospital now in the hands of the private interlopers, they have a loss of £4.5 million, but they say that they will not only reverse this loss by the end of their contract they will have wiped out the whole debt that they took on when they won the contract, so how do you save, well in my mind the only way is the reduction of staff which equates to reduction of the services to patients, I have to say that the government have got this wrong, the NHS does not need to be GP led, most of them have enough work on their plate without these stupid changes to the NHS.

Then we come to ATOS, what a great company!!, two thirds of people they have assessed have been declared fit for work, I do have experience of the system they run I accompanied my daughter to her assessment, you do not have a chance from the minute you walk in till you leave, I noticed in the press that they required a man to provide proof of his disability, he has lost two legs and several fingers on one hand, can you justify such stupidity?, do disabled people need this abuse of their lives.

fireworks

Here we are again November, yesterday from 7pm till 12 midnight fireworks going off all over, and some were really nasty sounding ones, very, very loud bangs sent our dog potty, now I do not mind that some people will let them off on November the 5th but some silly young teenagers seem to think it funny to set them off whenever, this begs the question where do they get the money from to buy them, and what shopkeeper in their right mind does it, locals are well aware who the sellers are which shops  will sell  them to anybody who has the cash whatever the age.

Then you have to ask these are in fact explosives, why are we selling them to members of the public who have not the slightest training in handling such items, I am gob smacked that health and safety have not stopped this crazy senseless sale of dangerous items, I fell that it is far better to provide a one off display on the 5th November, stopping all other sales, I wold finally point out to you all just remember how many children and adults have received serious injuries from fireworks, so it is now time to stop this madness and regulate the sale of fireworks only to professional displays before some one is killed, common sense says this must happen before it is too late.

NHS

I have in the past blogged the problems facing hospitals when the new health bill is implemented next year, these new CCG's will be commissioning services, they might well got to companies outside the NHS restricting the income of the hospital, it does not take a financial adviser to tell you that they will go bankrupt, then what?, no one seems to know, bit of a mine field is it not?
 

The NHS

Still we do not have the minister for healths reassurance that the CCG's will work with the need to accept that much of the commissioning will have to go to acute hospitals of the NHS, not to private concerns who will by taking some of the cherry on the tree good commissioning leaving the local hospital sinking because its income has been depleted so much that it can't survive, as it is now starting to work, fright has come about, just what will happen to the health service, I believe that it is right to say it will go down the tubes and become extinct very shortly, unless the government wakes up to what the ground level are saying and stop being its usual self as believing that they know best, I remember that it was said doctor new best, did he I think not, and for certain MPs with out a doubt don't either.
 

Syria/Yemen

Here we are some weeks later and still the killing is going on, Turkey has gone very quiet at the moment, does that mean nothing is happening or is it that a lot is going on but they do not want to tell us, you can see the carnage in Syria on TV but I must admit that headline news has not been about Syria, but you can be sure that the killing of children still goes on, supported by Russia ans of course China, two countries that are very low on the human rights scale, lack of the right to free speech some thing that in these two countries that has to be suppressed whatever the cost, death is easy in these countries as it can be done by the state without anyone ever knowing!, so why should they be involved in the problems of the Middle East, well to me it is obvious, they do not want to see a free people who have the right to a democracy (something to be violently oppresses in Russia and China), they believe in dictatorship, the right to the state to rule your life to deal with you as it wishes, just where do these people come from?, they are in fact mad people who would be far better off in an asylum than running a country, I have said before and I will no doubt say many more times you do not kill your children they are your future, Syria, Russia and China would do well to recognise this fact, but will they?, why of course not, they could not care less they have the money and power so why let anyone else survive to take it from them, it is sick.
I see that the Yemen is fighting insurgents in their country, so here we go again, another group on the roundabout.

Mobile Phones

I have to say the mobile phone must be one of the most important devices of my life time, they save lives, they allow contact when in trouble, and more to the point they  allow costly  conversations, it is mad that so many people walk  the streets with their mobile stuck to their ear, every one can hear the conversation well one side of it, I really do not need to hear this I find it  an intrusion into my space, what happens when they are so attached to their phone, they are immediately in a different world to the rest of us, they do not see us, they veer all over a path and seem not to be aware of traffic on the roads, it is  a funny fact that most of them would plead poverty if you asked them, but of course they must have their mobile phone, my question is do you really need to make these calls, calls that are in fact just a normal conversation so a total waste of money.
Then I have to ask why does a mobile phone need to have so much rubbish on it, BBM, games, browser and much more, so if you are not wasting money talking to that friend  who you most likely will see later in the day, you can waste time playing games or surf the Internet of course at a massive price, with the benefit system being sorted  out will people afford to use a mobile in an inappropriate manner?, I really hope not, I really hate the mobile phone, I would be very happy if it was limited to being just a phone, and that it can only be used standing still, but of course that will never happen, so if you are using your mobile on the move please remember that people are moving about around you so be aware as to your movements you can at times be a real pain in the Bum.

NHS

I hear that staff say that they come home from work in the hospital with a smile on their face as they feel they  have done a good job looking after their patients, I fully accept that but somewhere along the line it is going wrong, we are introducing ward  hostess delivering food and drinks to the patient, that is to allow the nurses to do more important work, whatever that might be, so how do the nursing staff understand what the patient is drinking or eating?, consequently we have patients who  are dehydrated and in many cases malnourished, not compatible for patients well being and recovery, then we come to food itself, is it nutritious? is it in its self appetising?, most importantly can they manage to eat by themselves or do they need help?, when food is untouched does the Hostess tell the  staff on duty?, do these staff actually listen?, I see that a ward sister is now going to be expected  to have a masters degree, I have to ask just what  does such an education relate to the word CARE, Nothing at all.

NHS

Well today I am again thinking about the NHS and the problems that are on the horizon for it, now we are doing away with the Primary Care Trust's and replacing them with a Clinical Commissioning Group, very much in some cases the PCT under a new name, so  what will this all mean to your local hospital, these new groups  will be commissioning services for you, will that be with the hospital or some private company??, who knows, if these services are taken over by private companies how will your local hospital survive?,  so many will I am afraid go to the wall, if their income is depleted they will not be able to survive, so be warned the new health service just might be the end of the NHS, if you are a young person I would highly recommend that you get your self health insurance as quick as possible. More to come as time  goes by.

bits and bobs

So I return to the fighting in Syria, now they are stupidly throwing rockets into Turkey, are they mad?, this is the last thing that any one with even a little brain would do, would they not have said to himself keep well away from the boarder, but no, so the Turkish army is now readying itself for war with Syria, soon all hell will break loose and for what?, a tin pot dictator who just can't see his time is up,

The Taliban, what a bunch of hero's they are attacking a young girl whose only crime is to want to be educated, no good for the Taliban a women who thinks she has any rights in this world cant be allowed to live, it just shows what a lack of education means to the men of the Taliban, they deserve a medal for being Thick.

I could save millions off the UK Budget in one foul swoop, stop paying hosing, child and any other benefits that are paid out to people who have come here from other parts of Europe, I would very much like some one to tell me why I paid in my dues for 50 working years of my life and still pay full tax even though I have retired, I wasted my time, these people arrive in this country and are guided on arrival to the benefit office after an education from fellow countrymen, yes some do work, but some of their income goes back home and is of no value to the UK, I feel that you should only be considered for any form of benefit when you have lived and worked here for 5 years and have been resident for the whole of that 5 years in the UK and not gone home then back again, each time you leave and return the 5 years should start again.

terrorists or whatever you want to call them have left the country, I have heard all the clap trap about the offences were committed in this country so they should be tried here, well if you put t6hings on the Internet and host them with an American company then the offence is committed it the US not in the UK, but of course we have the do goodies and the PC brigade who bull shit every one trying to be seen as nice people, come to the UK we will look after you, well these people should now realise that it is at an end, you can't commit offences in other countries and run to the UK because we as people will not accept it, groups like Liberty should pack up and give us a rest for the never ending clap trap that they push out day after day, these poor people (I say in jest) need to be looked after they are leaving a land where they are oppressed, no they are not they are mainly criminals on the run from justice, a Justice that is theirs so if you do the crime you face the justice not here but where you came from, so don't expect the tax payers of this country to support you and your family why you and your helpers try to batter us into submission, it wont work any more, so stay away you are not wanted!!!!!.

The NHS

Well it seems that we have people coming from abroad to get free treatment from the NHS, how is this happening?. people cheating the service, allowing non residents to have a GP so then getting free health services from the hospital, why is it we allow this to go on, I am required to take evidence of my entitlement when I have an hospital appointment, so how are they getting away with it, it seems that most hospitals take the referral from a GP on face value, they accept the patient with no checks as to who they are and if they have an entitlement, so for a  bung to a practise manager of a health centre he can get you onto a GP's list, this is not I believe all over the country but London seems to be the place, the government has to stop this abuse, the cost is non recoverable, checks have to be more stringent, and people caught out must pay for the service it is free for us in the UK but not every one in the World as seems to be the case now.

Diabetes Prevention

I have to return to the subject once again, there are so many people who are on the verge of submitting to Diabetes Type 2, well you might say why worry??, it is not serious just a problem with sugar, well you do not know just what is happening, you really need to educate your self and do it now, it is to late when you are diagnosed, you might be just going along with out a worry in the world, but that is not realistic in this day and age, most of us work very hard and very tired when we finish our day, you and your wife/partner arrive home its tea time, what shall we have?, we are both tiered so off to the freezer, and out comes the processed  food, microwaved /warmed in the oven, same for the kids, call them down from their  bed rooms where they are playing on the XBox, they come down stuff their tea down and rush back up stairs to carry on the game, you and the wife have a sit down to watch TV, I know this is not always the same, I know parent take their kids out to the pictures, give them pop corn laced with sugar same with the  drink, on the way home lets have a burger!!, lets look at the consequences of this behaviour, you all put on weight, your heart has to work harder for longer, I am including the kids in this as well, so your blood pressure rises, but you have no idea as there are no symptoms to show that you have hypertension, your weight rises you are not exercising!, you are in fact eating rubbish food the consequences for the adults is a heart attack and possibly diabetes, and your children candidates for Type 2 diabetes, do you realise that there is no cure your life is going to change, It is just not sugar it is the intake of carbohydrate, your life is ruled by this and it is PROGRESSIVE, you if you do not manage it properly you will get further conditions, so I have to say to you all YOU DO  NOT WANT THIS ILLNESS, it is at epidemic proportions in the World so think and for gods sake act now!!.

NHS Again

We have to keep a very close eye on just what happens when the new Clinical Commissioning Groups start to set up services, there is a lot of talk that private companies will try and pick off the best services that can raise the best income for them and their share holders, it has to be remembered that your hospital will be put at risk, if the services are farmed out  the hospital will loose its income so will have less staff and just might not meet its payments so then will it close?? it just might, the NHS cant keep cutting £5.9 billion this year and then year on year the same savings, it is impossible to do it, you might not be to bothered at the moment but many things can happen to you that could need hospital treatment! you never know, so it is a time for you as users of this service to protest at these massive cuts, it has to be remembered once its gone its gone!!!!.

Terrorist Inmates

Well, Well, Well  what a shock the European court of human rights have come down on the governments side for once, five of these people are  to be extradited as soon as possible, great not before time, this farcical carry on has gone on far to long, people promoting death to the West promoted at street services, this has cost this country the tax payer millions in appeal after appeal after appeal, this abuse of our system has to be stopped and stopped now, if people are wanted in their country of origin or a country that they are suspected of abusing the Law they have to go and accept the punishment that they have run away from,remember these people are not ultra clean people they are people who are promoting death and destruction to the West, remember 9-11, would we allow any one involved in that murderous terrorist attack  on people just going about their business on plane only to be blown to pieces, it is sick that these people are allowed to promote their hate campaign  on the street and in the mosque, why is this allowed?, why are they allowed human rights?, why are they allowed to stay in this country?, why are we paying benefit to the families?, we are I am afraid the softest touch in the World that is why so many are desperate to get here, we have to change the rules and make them more realistic, before we look at what we give our own people we need to see just what we are paying these people, we have so many illegal immigrants, it has to be sorted out once and for all, not later NOW would be good.

UK Budget

I have to say this, how is it that people who arrive here from Eastern Europe have the right to claim benefit, housing and free NHS care, I saw  lady from this continent in the paper who has 10 children and £34,000 in hand outs demanding a bigger house for the family, how can this be surely if you come hear and do not have a job you should return to your country of origin, how is it that these same people can claim child benefit for children who do not live in this country, how is it that some families are sending their children here mostly Pregnant girls for us to look after??, we have to have a boarder agency that behaves in a logical manner, if people arrive here without a passport they should be sent back on the first flight out to the country the plane last called at, we should fine any airline who carries a passenger who does not have a passport £10,000 each one the carry, just maybe then  we will not be so attractive to these people, all people who commit a crime in this country should be removed without any other consideration being taken into account, ie they might own a cat!!, this country has gone totally soft, it is time to tell the PC brigade was told to P**s off and let us sort this massive mess out that Blair and his hoods have got us into, lets be English for a change and not British, because as British we are alone as the Welsh, Scots and Irish do not count themselves as British.

NHS

I have been watching the change over from the primary  care trust to clinical commissioning groups, I  have had to read much of the blurb regarding this change, it is very difficult to understand for a non health person, but much is made of the fact that it is important that the community are involved, but how can that happen?, I have spent the past eight years being involved in health but I have difficulty in accepting that the patient view will be heard, the reason for this is that I believe that the people who will run the service will have what is a tick on paper  , I mean that what they want is to be able to say we have our nominal community member, the idea is that they are happy to have one but they hope that they will keep quite in the least but ignored at worst, it will be very difficult for the NHS to accept that the voice of patients will be heard it has to be for the best interests of the service, the PCT will finish on the 1st April but in fact will actually restart as the CCG, so many of the people who did provide services will in fact still do virtually the same job, so  why the change??.

Crime

We have just had a summer of great sporting achievements, the Queens Jubilee, and much more, it seemed that the country  had once again found itself, but how wrong can you be!, I live in Peterborough what do we have a drive bye shooting of three people two critical, then today in Manchester a woman police officer is killed her partner critical in hospital, so we are back to normal, the criminal faction are up and running once again, it seemed to good to last so I am not at all surprised as to this.

Then you have to look at Afghanistan, so many soldiers killed by killers (I will not call them men because they are in fact scum) in Afghanistan army/police uniform, so killed by the people they are trying to help!, is it worth it?? not a chance it is time to let them get on with it, we are getting rid of soldiers hand over fist as the ministry tries to cut the forces to the bone, we are not a World Power Tony Blair wanted to be seen as the big "I am" well Tony you let the forces down you should have kept out of it let the USA do what it wants but keep us out of it it is not worth it !!!.

Young Married Girls !!

It  seems that the Iman in Peterborough has said he would be happy to marry girls as young as 12 years, the idea is I believe to ensure that they do not get into Western decadent ways!, if this is a worry to the Muslim population or to Inmans of the Mosque they should not be living in this country, I was told some time ago that many young girls in school vanish at 12-13 years of age, it  seems to me, that it is, I think to marry them off, these girls are being abused of their rights as a person in this country, but family rules the thinking that their daughters will all become a misbehaving girl of low morals!, that as well is an insult to young Muslim girls, thankfully some of the leaders of the mosque have distanced themselves from this behaviour, really it should never be in a western country, these girls should be protected it is their right, whatever religion might say girls have the right to say NO, whatever their race or religion.

Chanel 4

I said yesterday just how well Chanel 4 had presented the  games with outstanding coverage, much to pick from so very good indeed, but then we come to today, I rush around to get back for the wheel chair marathon, got settled cup of tea and off they went under the Admiralty Arch and out of sight, it seems that they did not have any cameras on the route, we how stupid is that !!, I just can't believe that the most important race of the games taking into account that the Wolf man was on for his fourth gold medal of the games, 5.000mtrs, 1500mtrs, 800mtrs and the marathon only 26 miles plus, so what did we get from Chanel 4 just a few seconds on the Mall as they went by and some pictures on the course but nothing really, so not a happy bunny, so Chanel 4 you should have a very hard slap on the wrist for this, you ruined my day you should be ashamed!!.

Paralimpics

Just watched the last night of the Paralimpics, I have to say I have watched every day I have never in my life seen so much courage, skill and ability in all my life, I just cant believe that so many disabled people could show the world how to commit to winning, it shows that Blair and his cronies were wrong very wrong when they said that everyone is a winner there are no losers, well there are but the losers in these games showed decorum in defeat, went away and came back again to win, all the countries involved should be very proud of their athletes they have done you proud, and I have to say that Chanel 4 really went to town with this and did an excellent job, well done.

Life

I have a problem, an ice cream van seller has taken to stopping outside my house, he switches off the engine gets out rolls out his carpet takes off his shoes and starts to pray, this is on the grass outside, I think this is because I fly a cross of St George and the Flag is painted on my garage door, he might think that I am a member of the EDL or the BNF, but this is not the case, I am a very proud member of the Royal Society of St George, the patron of the society is the Queen, I do not have a problem with religion except when it encroaches on my and my families lives, you might think how can it, well for a start my neighbors are asking me what am I going to do about it, they find it very offensive and to be honest so do I, but of course I am not allowed to say so publicly as it might offend this person who ever he is, the maddening thing is that he does not even sell ice cream in the street so why come here??, I rang the Police for advice and it was just like walking on glass!!, just had to be so careful as to what I said, so where are we in this country regarding free speech, it seems that if you should be English you do not have that right, but anyone else can abuse me verbally, or make sure that I never say anything that might be construed as racist, I it seems can be a racist but none of the non English population can be, this is a very sad situation to find your self in in your own country.

NHS Drugs

I said in a previous blog that there is a post code lottery when being prescribed what might be called expensive, it seems that there just might be another problem, well two actually, firstly some people are obtaining prescription drugs then selling them to Asian countries or anyone happy to buy them sleeping drugs are good to sell but many drugs can be sold owing to the spread of the Internet, then we have the more dangerous side of the drugs business, the import of drugs made abroad and who knows what is in these tablets?, what makes it worse is that they are packaged as they would be if they were real, this is so dangerous for people on drugs that can be copied or are costly just maybe taking a copy and who knows just what the effects might be?, I do not have the first idea as to how this is stopped, but someone in the government needs to act to stop this very dangerous trade!!.

Human Rights Act

I find it very offencive that prisoners can invoke the human rights act when they feel a little hard done by, claiming vast amounts of money from the state, I mean the tax payer!, me in fact, why should they be allowed this right, they have offended against the laws of this country so what rights do they have in reality?, certainly not freedom!, so they are locked up as they should be, they should then have no claim to the courts for abuse of their human rights, yes of course they have some rights in prison, but this human rights act is beyond belief, our prisons are full of people both British and any other country's residents who have managed to get into this country, when they arrive the only thought is crime. they are not here to work that is the last thing on their minds, so they end up in prison, we are then lumbered with the cost of looking after them for in a lot of cases many years, at the end of their time are they deported?, sometimes yes but often not, these criminals use the human rights act to allow them to stay, using the right, because they have loose links to a family here, one even used the fact that he had a pet cat!!, this can't carry on for a start we can't afford it, I believe that anyone from another country who offends in this country should be tried here given a sentence then deported to their country of origin to serve their time, British criminals should just seW rve their time and be stopped from these silly actions, they are doing it just for financial gain, but the real money  is made by the lawyers!!. We need to either revoke this act or change it to a more reasonable law than it is at present.

question

Now I have to say I do like an ice cream, yesterday evening I heard the chimes of the van, I was watering the plants, I suddenly realised that the van had stopped switched off, so I went out the gate and to my total surprise found the van driver on my grass with his prayer mat which he was kneeling on, his shoes to the left hand side and he was praying, I just could not believe my eye's, I was so shocked I did not say a word!!!. is this acceptable behaviour?? 

Paraolympics

Watched the opening ceromony yesterday evening, I have to say it was outstanding, so many happy faces, was a bit suprised when I saw Iraq, Iran, Israel and Jordon parading very close to each  other, I did notice that each  side of the Israel contingent had a row of suited gentelmen who were not waving flags but were looking all around, I had to asume this is the Israle protection squad!, with all the other countries involved better to be aware of any possible prdblems. it never ceases to amaze me at their ability to swim, ride cycles with one leg and one arm, just humbles you or it should, these are remarkable people and we should support these games by watching and supporting your team, mind you second to the Chineese we will win more golds than any other country !!!.

My wife said to me yesterday we needed some bits from the shops, so we made a list and off I went, now I use a mobility scooter ran into my first problem immediately three young women across the path two with push chairs, would not move an inch, so had a really difficult job getting by, to I might add filthy looks, next problem three women walking along the path side by side had to ask several times before they would move to let me pass, I am very polite when asking but it makes you angry that they can treat you with such contempt, got to the shops, Iceland not too bad very helpful staff, moved on to Sainsbury's what a nightmare, kids everywhere but not with their parents, or should I say mums as there was no sign of dad's, on those scooters up and down the aisles, turns out they were Romanian, many different children of different cultures just running or skipping along the aisles, got to the self service check out, a young couple decided to race me to the machine, then out of the blue the Roumania family shot past me blocking the access to the till, finally got to the till put my stuff through when a very nice member of staff helped me to put my stuff through and pack it, so onwards to Aldi, same problem packed with Eastern Europeans, now I do not have to much of a problem with them, but it riles me when I am pushed about, walked in front of, leaned across and treated as if  I am not there, and when I got to the till it is a mad rush your stuff is sent flying through the till and it is impossible for you to cope with the speed that it comes at you, so not at all happy, got out as quick as I could and shot home for a well earned cup of tea, will not go out shopping after 10am on a Friday and not at all on the last day of the month especially when the kids are off school; is it to much to expect a little respect from the younger generation??. really not a chance in reality. 

Health

I find it quite annoying that some medications can only be prescribed depending on you location, ie your post code, it is not good enough that some people are treated with  the correct medication others are not, we all pay national insurance (well most of us do) so we should be able to get the medication for any illness that you might contract, it is not on for PCT's to refuse these ill people on the grounds of cost, any person who needs any drug should without a doubt get it, but reality says that this will not happen, unless of course the government decides to ensure that all PCT's will have to allow prescribing of all licenced drugs, we shall see. 

Syria Again

Again I have to say just what is going on, we seem to have Pakistanie young men off to Syria to try and enforce sharia law on the country,  these are British Pakistanies (how they can use the word Pakistani beats me as they were born in the UK) fighting a jihad, their families are still in the UK, what are these young men up to?, what gives them the right to try and opress a country, because that is just what they are up to, impose sharia law on the population even if they do not want it, so we go from one opressor to another, these young men are armed with the wepon of hate the AK 47, one of these young men is a doctor in the UK, it is thought he is at a  NHS hospital in London, if we identify him should we not refuse him entry when he tries to return to the UK, and also ask his family to depart as they are not welcome?, it is only right if you offend a country you should be persona non grata.

Once again I have to write about the murderous regime in Syria, as I have said the Syrian army say that they were asked by the population to protect them, what do the civilians get from the army nothing but death, it seems that its all lies and more lies, surely it is for the middle eastern nations to sort this mess out?, or am I being a complete fool?, well I have no answer to this conflict I only wish I had, my thought are to bash all their heads together!, but no doubt that would only make things worse.

Life

Just what is it all about? why are we put on this earth?, some very nice people, some nasty and some who can only be described as sick, we are born into this world, it is then downhill all the way to death, you cant postpone it, it comes to everyone no matter what, some live very long lives others so very short, so why?, no one knows, what happens after death?, some believe that there is a heaven and hell, some believe that we return as a different entity, but who knows?, it is well known that soldiers who do not have a religion when in a very tight corner pray to God who ever he might be, even though they do no believe they comfort themselves by this action, so we have a life but we do not know why, we know we die but have no idea as to what is the afterlife all about if anything!, it is a very deep subject, brought on by my bloggs on the problems in Syria, funny how  suffering of other people afects  your life and thoughts!.

Day  after day I have to say something about this war, I read that children are being killed while waiting to get bread, it is it seems a difficult commodity to be able to get so children of the families are waiting to get  bread, I keep saying children are the future of a country so killing them is the most idiotic thing a government can do, it is easy to condemn this as we live in the west and this should never happen here, I will not say could never happen as that would be tempting providence,  it is it seems in the middle east an acceptable consequence of this mad war, the government seems to care not at all about children or civilians, the Syrian army say that they were asked to come into towns to protect the civilian population!!, sorry but is it not this army that is killing the children, is it not them indiscriminately firing into towns with out any thought as to they might kill, is it not the air force who are using gun ships to fire on civilians, and to fire rockets as well, so what protection is being given to the civilians by this caring army/air force NONE AT ALL, they are just the providers of death who ever you might be it matters not to them!!!.

I see that the fighters in Syria are not at all what we are led to believe, all I have read on the subject tells of rebbles wanting freedom for the people of Syria, what is happening in fact is many Turkish men are involved in the fighting as are many men from surrounding countries, now what is this all about?, are they there for the fight for fredom? I am sorry to say that I think not, just maybe they are in fact these countries soldiers, it is obvious that countries close by are providing arms to these rebbles, I am all for freedom and the right to democracy, but will this be the outcome if this goes on as it is?,  I would think not, some one some where is hoping to make a killing over this civil war, who that is I do not know, but it is odd that this is going on with little or no intervention by the west?, no doubt we will all know in the years to come.

Well it has finally come Obama has started threatening Syria if they should use chemical wepons, so where dose that put Russia and China, China just about to have a change at the top so they will want to be the king of the castle!, so it is time to be very carefull in this part of the world!, it is so dangerous to start threatening a looser, as a looser will take heart from these threats, they will likely respond in a very negative way, they just might use these wepons just to see what the world and Mr Obama might do!, it is game that has to be played very carefully, do not give the regime the slightest chance, the word warning is a far better word rather than threaten, but these people speak or understand English as a second language, so words said in ways we might see as of no consequence might just be interprated in a totally different way, I feel so sorry for all the ordinary people walking the streets of Syria, they are dying for a cause that no one in the west really cares about.

T ype 1 BBQ Peterborough

Wow what a Sunday so hot, must have lost a couple of pounds in weight, our annual BBQ was held at Ferry Meadows Peterborough, must say that the burgers were great as was the salad and fruit sticks, tea coffee and soft drinks, kids had a great time but the adults sizzled in the heat, many people making the most of the sun, sailing going on, and the train shooting up and down the line full of passengers, the whole area was packed to the roof tops with people never seen it so busy in all the years I have gone there, it is very pleasant to go to something where you do not have to do the donkey work arrive and just eat, not bad really, will look forward to next year.

My Time with Diabetes UK

It is a really sad day for me, I have after many years resigned today from Diabetes UK, this after serving on the Science and Research Advisory group for 2 years, having chaired my local group for 18 months, restarted the Children's and families group in the city, I  have been a service rep, a campaigner, attended MP's  question time on at least two occasions, have assisted in the writing of the disability Instructions for the staff of the charity, I have been to London, Birmingham, Liverpool and Manchester even though I am disabled and have difficulty walking, so it is good bye, I have had enough of being at times treated as a little boy, left unsupported, so I am now looking forward to working on my own, no need for direction as I know which way I want to go, so hello to a new start tomorrow, then on Tuesday I can welcome my 66th Birthday!.

Diabetes Type 2

Now I am on my band waggon, people do not seem to realise that if you are obese and have high blood pressure you are a candidate for Type 2 diabetes, you really do not want this I can assure you, you do not want your life ruled by a medical condition, now if you  get out of your chair do a little exercise say 30 Min's a day, good weather at the moment, a walk, a bike ride or a swim great for loosing weight, and to reduce high blood pressure, not only your self! have you any children who are  overweight?, then you need to take control of their well being, you are responsible for your children, you need to ensure that they are exercising and eating a balanced diet, if  you let your children get diabetes you just might be accused of "child abuse", in  children it is entirely preventable so beware, but you have to be aware of just what diabetes can mean to you, at the begining it is controlled by diet and exercise, it is a progressive condition so next comes tablets, then you might have to inject a background insulin every day, then you might have to take a fast acting insulin every time you eat, do you want this??, the answer has to be NO, so take a look now before its too late.

Type 1

Really looking forward to the annual BBQ at Ferry Meadows country park on Sunday, it always seems to go well and the kids have a great time, this is the Children's group running in Peterborough, Type 1 is very difficult for families to cope with the condition, we have been running it for three years, it is very sad that we have had no support from families except on some occasions, we have to ask is it really worth the effort?, probably not, in all honesty enough is enough unless anyone can change my mind!!. 

Life and Diabetes

I have spent many years volunteering for a well known  diabetes charity,  I have attended conferences been a speaker for them, have helped with disability programs to help the staff to understand disability, been a member of a committee or group whatever you want to call it, it has to be remembered that I have to travel to London to attend all these meetings I  have also been to Liverpool, Manchester and Birmingham, so I have travelled quite a bit, I have chaired an adult group, set up a children's group, so many things, so little support, it seems that the end is quite near, it is all well and good supporting people with diabetes and looking for a cure, but for me we should be warning people of the dangers of diabetes, we have a major problem with the condition, obesity and high blood pressure are the signs of a possibility that diabetes is on the way if you do not change your life style, I have it!, you do not want  it, if you should have a child with Type 1 diabetes join JDRF it is for you.

I will be making my decision on Monday. 

Afganistan / Syria

What a day once again, suicide boomer's in action again, Afghan Policemen shooting colleagues, planes being shot down, it does not surprise me though the MiG is a bit out of date now, but why do these people kill themselves to kill so many other innocent people for what martyrdom, or so they think, suicide in these sorts of ways are a crime against humanity, all the people responsible to promote the idea that this sort of destruction of life is OK should be taken to the Hague and put on trial for crimes against humanity without a doubt they are responsible for changing the mind set of perpetrator is just as bad as actually carrying out the offence, religion is not an excuse for this, it is against all man kinds laws, it is so sad that so many people have to die for what?, stupidity!!, nothing more or less!!!.

Olympics

Its all over now, now we get to see the real people who have a disability but still manage to do their damnedest to win, I am really looking forward to seeing what little the TV networks will show Chanel 4 it seems has the contract, so just how much will we see??, I hope a lot, but I am not at all sure that that will be the case.

Last night closing of the games, I was appalled at the start, I was just wondering just how stomp would manage to perform with massive bins on their feet, it took a lot of doing, not something that fitted in I thought, Brian May was excellent as were the Who and Madness, the ballet seemed to be good I was in fact impressed which is surprising as I hate it, I also thought the fireworks were a bit of a let down, but there you go I am sure some loved it all, but it was not really for me. 

Police (The Met)

Now come on three searches of a very small house and you do not find a body, also use of a dog, then we are told that they have in fact found a body in the house, just where was it hidden so as to confuse the police, not once not twice but three times!!, I am at a loss to say just how did this happen, the poor mother she must have been at her Witt's end, the arrested people including the grandmother!, appeared on TV asking for help in  finding their granddaughter, knowing full well that she was dead, I know that the body has not been formally identified but who else can it be??, grandmother and her boy friend arrested on suspicion  of murder and the next door neighbour for assisting in a crime, the two women have been released on police bail, so just what is going on, no matter what the grandmother has to know just how the 12 year old died, the police suspect murder! and for what I know about it so do I, one thing for certain the women released will not be able to go home, it just would not be safe, but maybe it might be a good idea to make them go home to see what happens.

Oylimpics

Well I was missing yesterday, I was as it did happen a inmate of the  NHS, sleep problems being sorted out I already have a machine but needed to see what my oxygen levels were with it, came away this morning no more visits for `12 months, new better mask for my face and a second machine that adds water to the air that I am breathing, but I passed all the sleep tests, but one more problem to face have to see a cardiologist on the 17th about excessive fluid round my heart.

Anyway, have to say the I think that Team GB has done us proud, except the athletics team, I am sick
of hearing how well the person has managed to do a PB (personal best for those that do not know) as if that is worth a gold medal in its self, well its not, in athletics we managed 4 gold, 1 silver and 1  bronze, two of the golds were to MO, so just what did the rest do???, not a lot really.

So the way forward it seems that children in primary school are going to be involved in team games, I do not think that this has a chance in hell of  working, one thing I think is a  real prospect School Sports days including all sorts of sports, we have to get away from the Blair Years "everyone is a winner", it is a real shame that Blair was not told that is not the case in the World, some we win some we loose that is reality, so if you are going to run for your country a PB is just not good enough, you need to have a mind set to win nothing else matters, see some of our sailors they went to win and win they did.

NHS

  Going into hospital this Friday over night, I hope!, it has been cancelled twice now, I  have to go in on a Friday overnight because I have to use hospital transport and they only work Monday to Saturday, so my next appointment was booked for a Saturday to Sunday knowing that I would not be able to return home on the Sunday, when telling them that I could not attend it changed from Mr to Sir, and then tried to lay the cancellations at my door, in the end I managed to get the appointment to the Friday, it is not helpful that some of these staff seem to think they are the big boss, if a patient has a problem they have a problem, it is in the best interest of the patient to be looked after not apportion blame, and it is even worse that the blame is put on the patient irrespective as to how or why the appointment was cancelled in the first place, the fact that the NHS is disintegrating at a large rate of knots, the fact that staff do not know if they will have a job or not, does not matter one jot if it is likely to influence patient care, I have one thing to say to these people just remember the one word that you should be fully aware of is "Care", something that seems to be missing with many of the NHS staff at the moment!!!.

I see that the PM of Syria has fled with his family to Jordan, he is now going to fight with the free Syrian army, well not actually!, he will be available to take over when this mess is cleared up, the government it seems is falling apart, but not quite fast enough, still Russia and China hang on to the regime no doubt in a desperate hope that the government will win!!, some one needs to tell these governments it is not wise to back the loosing side, if not the new regime will kick you in the teeth!, so be it really, we sit here day after day complaining about the weather, the Olympics, the train service and the bus service, we have it easy just getting wet, the people in Syria face death and destruction every day!, the least we can do is offer a prayer for them!.

Not about the games themselves but more the benefit to local business, they were told that they were all in for a windfall of cash this summer, it has not materialised at all, so many invested in the games and the Logo expecting to  be able to make a profit on the goods, they truth is that the hotels outside the London area have had no increase in bookings in fact most have seen a decline, so no windfall at all, so where has all the money gone that the government promised business, who knows its any ones guess!!, but I believe that if you look back at other games just the same has happened, I think it is a bluff by people who wanted to spend billions of pounds of our cash on these games knowing full well that in reality your small business would never make a profit, but chose not to tell them, another massive rip off of the tax payer.

Well it gets no better, now they are executing each other, tit for tat it seems, the viciousness seems to escalate at every possible time, death it seems means nothing now to the people involved, the local population has not got a chance, they are just there to die and die in great numbers, it is so sad that the removal of tyrants in one country has led to a massive civil war in another, I am sure the people want democracy but will it be there's in the end?, I very much doubt it, they will once again be oppressed by another tyrant who will take control, be it religious or military, in the end no one wins, but maybe Russia or China !!!.

15,8,2.10, what does this set of numbers mean? fairly difficult unless you watched the football, these are the ones who are a disgrace to Team GB football, to make matters worse number 10 is Bellamy the captain of the team, this shows that the only people who are British are the English, that makes me really sad, the anthem of GB is "God Save the Queen", if you do not want to sing it why are you playing for GB?, because you want to be the big I am, well I have news for you over paid idiots, who get really idiotic amount's of money and think they are better than the team, this is a team game it would be better after the Olympics  that the team GB footballers should be disbanded for good, they just do not represent the country.

Health Servioce

I have to say that I am not over impressed with some of the nursing staff at my hospital, phone calls from/to the ward can become very nasty, all of a sudden you are referred to as Sir during the call, which means that you are not flavour of the month, accused of cancelling three appointments when I had only cancelled one and that was because it was on a Saturday overnight stay, now here is the problem I have to be taken and collected by hospital transport and no doubt you have guessed they do not work on a Sunday so I had to say No, so then I have a letter appointment again for a Saturday admission so I had to ring, it was a very uncomfortable call, it was as if it was a personal insult me having the nerve to cancell, that was when it changed to Sir, it was really quite nasty, it was on speaker phone so my wife heard and was quite shocked at the attitude of the member of staff, finally I was given an appointment on a Friday overnight, so why was all the aggravation going on, was it really needed, was the member of stressed ?, I have no idea as to why but it is something that worries me as I have a major interest in patient care, so for the moment I have sent an email to the PALS office at the hospital, I  will wait for a reply before taking any further action .watch this  space.

Now we just might see some real trouble, Syria has now  been for a chat with the Iranians, and say it was very productive, just what does that mean for the Syrian people? one thing you can be sure of it bodes ill times ahead for the people, it  is of course a meeting of shear desperation as all of this is getting out of hand, I think that the Russians will now remove its veto on sanctions but what about China?. I really do not think that there is a chance in hell that they will agree to any further sanctions? so where does that leave the people? death seems rife and very close to so many, it really hurts to see so many dying and for what??.

Opening Ceremony Olympics

I watched the opening ceremony last night start to finish, now I thought I lived in England part of Great Britain where  most of us speak English, so why oh why was the first language used French and second English, whoever thought that up is stupid in the extreme, they should be ashamed of themselves for me it  ruined it, the performers I have nothing but praise, I have a problem with certain stars singing though I am thinking of the end and "hey Jude", great song lousy singing, I have to say though it was very dark, but the volunteers should be given some sort memento they were in fact brilliant, have to finish here as I am going faint giving out praise, oh dear!!.

Olympics

Well the day has finally  arrived!!, thank the lord because I am just about fed up with all the hype, I can understand the furor, but it is not for me, It used to be that the contestants were unpaid sports men and women, now it is awash with cash, we have people running for money to set the pace in a race, to much for me I am afraid, yes I will be pleased if we win medals but it is OK by me if they do not, I listen to the presenters loading pressure on to runners by their expectations, and I heard that we have the edge because it is in London, we shall see, I hope things go well, but I am a cynic so I  reserve my judgement to the end of the games.

Funny Day

I am having  a funny day, I got up this morning thinking it was the 27th, I got ready for an interview I was due to have at 10.40am, prepared for the phone call, and it was not till 10.30am that I realised that it was the 26th, how stupid was that, went shopping on my mobility scooter, the estate I live on is usually pretty  well looked after but at the moment it is the weed capital of the eastern region, the grass in places is a foot high covered in dandy lions and thistles, litter every where but I suppose that you might expect that as the children are on holiday, but you have to ask is it just them?, maybe not, the litter pickers are few and far between, and they only pick up the larger pieces and do not pick up fag ends and such like, mind you there are some very unsavoury  young men roaming about, many not speaking English, so is my life contracting, is it safe for me to go out?, it is a very good question and I really do not have an answer.

Today I am back with this subject, it is just becoming monotonous, but as thing have changed I am going to say my view on the situation as it is now, it has changed from a freedom fight, that it has been, to a really nasty fight by Muslim extremists, they have infiltrated the fight, I think that Saudi Arabia and Iran have a hand in this providing weapons and I would think fighters most probably from these countries army's, I may be wrong but as things are going these poor people will be exchanging one despot for a religious zealot, can we keep standing by and watching gun ships and bombers spread their death and mayhem, well it seems yes we can, it is a stain on our national character. 

Summer

Well is it really summer?? we have 78f and there is a big orange thing in the sky that I have not seen for a long long while, but there comes a problem, the school holidays have just started, mums are stressed out already! what they are going to be like after 6 weeks is any ones guess!!, anyway went to the shops this morning on my mobility scooter, a night mare for me, ignorant people taking up the whole pathway, and in the shops just mad, I came home worn out, I am the person who does not want to offend anyone while driving the scooter but it is  not in the least reciprocated, maybe it would be best to put it away for the next 6 weeks, or I just might be a screaming pitch by the end!!!!.

The Army UK

Just seen the news, a LCpl who served in the army has just applied for British Citizenship, he was turned down because during his service he had a fist fight with another soldier, he was fined nothing else, the border agency take this as a criminal offence and they have given him till the 9th August to leave England, right here we have a man who is a member of the commonwealth, has sered in the army for about 13 years, has three campaign medals, has an English wife and two children, why for Gods sake are we deporting him??. I might remind the border agency their lack of deporting serious criminals from Europe and the rest of the world!, who now in their stupidity! are deporting an ex British army soldier, give me a break!!!!! this country has gone mad!,  officialdom has gone crazy, they are for ever allowing rapists to stay on the grounds of their right to a family life, what about the rights of his wife and children? do they not need a family life?, it is a disgrace and some one needs a right kick up their arse and if needed I will have pleasure in doing it !!!!!.

immigration to the uk

I am sick and tired about the level of immigration in to the UK, the local population Caresa really had enough of it, we have people living on roundabouts  in the city, people fishing carp out of the rivers to eat and swans are being butchered, very few people seem to be speaking English, shop staff can't understand English as some of the hospital staff can't, it is impossible to rent a house in the city at reasonable rates because the landlords prefer taking inflated rents from immigrants, the gang masters in the area prefer eastern Europeans for the work because they say that they are harder workers, I think it is very much cheaper to employ these people, it is known that some accommodation is in sheds with just the basics at high cost, there are rules regarding immigration into the UK but it seems that no one actually cares, the government needs to take notice of the voice of the people.

Civil war in Syria, another day another killing day, I understand that the sale of military hard ware is a predominant factor in this civil war, who are selling arms, Russia, China no doubt the US and the UK, and every arms salesman in the world, now I see that Saudi Arabia are to provide arms to the rebels, what next, only more death, as I have said before you do not kill your children they are the future of the world so any regime who see this as some thing that bears no responsibility to them, well I have news for them they are likely to be pursued through the courts in Europe, if they are not assassinated before this can happen, it is certain the leaders of Syria are on the run will it be long before they are no more who knows, but many will die before any real progress is made.

Here we go again, the rebels are getting to be able to kill who they want when they want, but still Russia and China will not give in, the rest of the World is to stop the killing and allow the people to determine just what government they want, but there is not a chance while Russia and China will not support any action that might be taken against the regime, but of course just ask yourself what have Russia and China got in common? simple really no regard as to human rights of the populace, they have no regard to care and the well being of them, you only have to look at the execution record of China and the prison sentences inflicted on mainly Innocent people, so why should they worry about the death of people in Syria?, no reason at all.

The Elderly

So the health minister thinks that the elderly should have to pay up to £35,000 for life time care but then said that it might have to be £100,000,  they are putting forward  cuts to the fuel payment and bus passes, what next no NHS treatment  as its  not worth it!, and do not tell me that this does not go on it does!!, you reading this might be young but life moves on, you might reach old age but do you really want to?, save for your old age! that is what is pushed at you, but if you do you will be still paying income tax for the rest of your life, you will get no rebate on your council tax, nothing really just pay, pay, pay, I expected a bit of a life at 65 but the government just seem to want to put the elderly down, what happened to looking after the elderly??, it seems to have vanished down the tubes with the Conservative and liberal party's, it seems we have no one that actually care.

Rapist

I have to say that I am totally shocked by the fact that a refuge to the UK had committed a rape on a 12 year old girl, he served a three year sentence, he was seen to be a danger to young girls when released, so should have been deported, but no!!, an immigration judge has decided that his human rights would be unsafe if he was to be returned to his country of origin, so he is allowed to stay, may I ask just what about the human rights of the young girl he raped, he should be sent home whatever and banned from returning then the human rights of the young girls in the UK will be protected, I have no time for the Bill of European Human Rights, it is objectionable, stupid and sides with the criminal, the rights of the human being when abused by another means that the offender has rejected his/her rights to being treated under this act, the country who offers them safety and liberty and human rights can't accept criminal acts of such depravity, and when a criminal judge says that  the prisoner was a risk to young girls, who?, can then say that even if he is his  human rights must not be put in jeopardy, sorry send him home as with all convicted prisoners we can't afford this sort of decission, the judge should be removed now if not yesterday!!!!.

It is sad that the abuse of the people of Syria by the state army and police has been pushed off the front pages of the papers and the TV news, football, tennis and the Olympics have come first, and I am as bad because I have not mentioned it for some time, it is not that I do not care but just out of sight out of mind, so again it comes to the fore, 200 people dead, authority must think that the world is stupid.  suggesting that these people were terrorists is just mad, it is just killing for the sake of killing, what for?, these people have had the nerve to stand up to the government, that it seems makes them terrorists, please do not insult my intelligence, the people have had enough of the oppression, they want freedom, a democracy but that is not acceptable to the ruling people, so how do they deal with this, well the only way that idiots can respond is with overwhelming army action, a very one sided fight, I believe that freedom is the right of every person in this world, no government has the right to kill their people.

Care of the Elderly

It is a crying shame that Peterborough City Council can't see as far as the end of their noses, a review on two care homes for the elderly, they are good places, highly motivated staff and happy residents, so what shall we do close them down, we can move these residents into private establishments, it just shows you the mentality of the people involved in this thought, or no thought it has to be recognised as, no one in their right mind would ever consider moving elderly but of course they have absolutly no scruples, money is King, no thought about the stress that these people will suffer if moved, it is a well known fact that many old people moved under this sort of move are known to die

Cold Calls

I have to say I am sick to death with the level of phone calls I get that are full of S***, the opening line is "you filled in a survey on line" or "you have a PPI claim outstanding" or "you have had an accident we will help you make a claim", all this is rubbish, they hit us at lunch time then tea time, and finaly early evening, I am not interested in anything that anyone who is trying to sell me something, helping me with a claim, and I do not have an outstanding PPI claim, so please please stop, but of course not a hope, so pardon me if I am rude, you have asked for it, you have invaded my space and time so expect to get it in the neck, I just can't help myself, it might be better if you found another job.

The Elderly

Just been watching the news, so the government are going to grant loans for residential care, these loans would be repaid on the death of the person, how?, by selling their house, I really do not see the difference at the moment most have to sell their house to cover the cost, with the fact that these loans will accrue interest it will be a nightmare for the person, what has to be taken into account is the partner who is left behind, just what do they do?, is their house sold from under them?, it is sad that we are at this point, many of these people have fought a war for this country is this the way to repay this commitment to the country, I find it very hard to understand these, as I see, attacks on the elderly, I am elderly my self, I have major health problems so it worries  me as to what might happen to me!!

OAP's

I have to admit I am a pensioner, I am getting a little fed up with all the crap being piled on us, we get too much money!!, I am really not sure about that I see my income shrinking day by day, but now they are going to cut the heating allowance!!, I fully agree that this should be done to ex pats that live in Spain but in the UK no way, we are prepared to cut this but what about child benefit being paid to immigrant's from the EU who do not even have their children with them, and just by moving to this country should not give them a right to child benefit, then take into account the vast  sums of money being paid to landlords of property's in London I rest my case !!!!

NHS

Due to go into hospital overnight yesterday, got up early, packed everything up to go, sat at home pouring with rain, no call to go, so rang them, doctors had not finished their rounds so no idea as to if  I would have a bed, so as it was half a day lost and getting restless I asked them to cancel the appointment, I have to sort out my diabetes so not good to be in limbo as such, time is a problem for me I really have to eat meals at the same time so I am able to work out my insulin dose, I think that hospitals fail to take this into account, I have to think that as usual it is a non medical person booking your appointment, for some reason not known to me I have to go in Friday 1.30pm and discharged at 10am on Saturday, I am now in that tract where you know you have to go but have no idea as to when, just another NHS problem.

Health

I have to say that my major work as such if you can call it that as I am retired is about the world wide epidemic of Diabetes Type 2, and not forgetting Type 1's, for people who are unaware as to the difference, Type one is when the body does not produce insulin (that is a simple answer), in Type 2 the insulin in the body does not work as well as it might, in both cases the important thing is Blood Glucose levels, bad control can lead to other life threatening problems for you, diabetes also makes you more susceptible to other conditions mainly Heart and Kidney problems, I  have now done a course on carb counting and adjusting the amount of insulin I inject, I am really like a pin cushion and it really aggravates me but it has to be done, anyone reading this should be aware that you really do not want diabetes it is a pain, and it is Progressive so please beware!!.

NHS

Today is about nursing, why does a ward sister have to have a degree??, not only that they will need a masters soon, what has all this to do with nursing sick people, most of the training is at university consequently they are unused to wards, and from what I have seen many younger nurses seem to think that the word CARE does not apply to them, any contact with patients can be left to health care assistants, many of these have no training and many can't even speak English, so how as an elderly patient do you survive?, you have to rely on your family to ensure your well being,atending at meal times to ensure you are fed, make sure you are clean and ensure you get the relevant treatment to your illness, if you have no family you are in trouble. Government can say that they put  vast amounts of money in to health care but just where does it go??, each department has a matron, each ward has a bed manager, a ward hostess just what is all this about?, the changes that this white paper has actioned is a nightmare, it is it  is said that it will give patients more power!, I don't think so, commissioning of health services is a very technical job, not the line of work that GP's are involved in, so what happens if your local hospital looses a lot of its work because your local GP's commission it at another hospital, your hospital CLOSURE, Beware.

The NHS

I love this subject, well we are off, it is said that within 10  years much of the treatment we get for free at the moment will have to be paid for of course by US you and me, that is because so many more of us are surviving longer, I have to say I am very sorry to have got to be an OAP, on my income I would have to select unable to pay switch off the machine, It  is I believe a ploy to eradicate the elderly, my past Blog has spoken about a Housing Association who is trying to charge the elderly out of their homes, so it seems that there is an underlying trend to crush us elderly, I am so sorry to have survived to be a pensioner, and sorry to be a strain on the NHS, but for 50 years I have paid NI and PAYE, now it is my turn to have possibly a little back,  so to the NHS I am sorry if I become a burden but I have paid my way so give it a rest and provide this wonderful service you say you give.

Syria State Police

Now we can see it on film, civilians being abused violently, taken in to custody, that means beatings, threats of electrical torture and finally threats to their wives  and family, a senior police officer said that the orders to do this came from the top, that means that the leadership all of them  should be arrested and put on trial, but of course the Russians will not allow it as it does not suit their plans, so they allow daily death and destruction, the Russians are the resonsible government allowing this death and destruction so should they not be put on trial for supporting the government of Syria?.

Afganistan

So our soldiers go out on patrol, to help the people, what do they get SHOT Dead by someone in a Police uniform, it is just not on, wives & children deprived of their dad's, I know that when you join up you take the chance that you just might geet killed, that though is never in your mind if it was you would go mad, the one thing you must have is the support of the people of the UK, you need this because without it you are lost, it is awfull that you never know your enemy, he might be behind you, to the left, to the right, or right in front, you are on a looser every which way you turn.

Banks

So  the CE of Barclays has gone, so what is this to me?, little or No interest at all, I am more concerned about just what goes on in the World today, so many children all over the World with little or no food especially in Africa, look at all the despots that rule this wounderful continent, but what happens Wars all over, many different Muslim groups trying to exert their wishes on every one, but there are others, just destroying everywhere, it is a crying shame that we the West cant stop this mayhem and save these people from death.

Syria once again

Just seen the news, the Russians do not want a west replacement for the leadership of the country, well who is going to lead it out of the mess it is in not the Russians, life to the leadership in Russia is the same as in Syria, no real human rights oppressed women, and killing means nothing to authority, so where does the UN go, no where really, someone has to take control, and stop this killing before it is to late, and as I have said before to late was yesterday, I hate to see these children crying on the street waiting to die, just how sad is that!!!!, the world needs to wake up talk is no good action is needed now!!!.

Social Housing

I am very fortunate I own my house, a friend over the road in his 70's, wife has just been diagnosed with cancer has had a visit from the housing association, they live in a three bed house since 1977, brought up their family, kept the garden, now to try and get them out the officer said they will have to pay £100 per month for the third bed room (box room in fact), next door is an old lady not long lost her husband, has lived in her house prior 1977 too today, she will have to pay more because she will have to pay for the box room and a bed room, £200+ per month, these are elderly people, this is an attack on their freedom to live where they have the lived for over 30 years, they signed a housing agreement when they moved in, no mention that in years to come they would be pressured to move out!, I believe that this is a breach of contract by the housing association, they should be ashamed of these actions and I would love to give them a real kick to wake them up, the elderly in this country are not looked after!, they are left to get on with it, most have problems eating because of payments just to keep a roof over their heads, we as people should say out loud leave them alone but for many of them you would not be living in a free nation!!!!.

Teachers

I have watched the arguments about teachers in schools today, I have to say as an ex school Vice Chair of Governors I have seen just how under performing teachers can dictate just how the school is run, first action submit a whistle blower complaint against the head, this then gets him suspended pending investigation, time before that to get a story concocted, interviews held and often re-held, the authority then attack the Governing Body implementing an IEB, concludes with a diciplinary hearing, at this hearing if the head is properly represented a pay off is set up, can't let the head back in school, this is criminal, the children loose a progressive head who demands the best from his staff, but as by then probobly a year has gone by so the head has decided that it would be better to move on, so here it is usless teachers can have a massive impact on the education of our children, if they can't do the job in a quality manner they should for the best interests of the children move on to a different job!!!!.

Syria

I see that the alleged rebels have started to construct IED's, the alarming thing for me is the way that these are to be used, on the news yesterday they constructed an IED then planted it and then tried to lure the Syrian army passed the device, could have worked well but the army came at them from a different direction,  the answer flight, run like hell, I  notice that there are many AK 47's and it seems plenty of ammunition, some one is providing it, it would be interesting to know who, also who is providing the explosives and bits and pieces to make IED's, looks as if it is copying Afghanistan, it is without a doubt a Civil War, when is some one going to actually do something to help these people??.

England Football

For once I felt sorry for the England team, it seemed to me that there was not a plan to win, just go out and see what happens!, it should never have got to extra time let alone penalties, once again we are down the drain, but this time there is an answer, a new manager very little time to sort out the team, all sorts of excuses by the barrow load, I will wait and see just what the papers say tomorrow !!, watch this space.

Athletics

Can I ask, is it right for these drug cheats are allowed to race again??, I ardently believe that if you are caught using drugs in any sport you should be banned and it be for life, how can you be trusted again??, I am sorry for the person caught but you know it is not allowed, you know you are cheating so out you go, sports people who play by the rules may be have lost  to drug cheats when in fact  they should have in fact won, so it is not right in my mind to allow these cheats to return to sport, especially the Olympics !!!.

Voluntary Work

I have spent the last few years supporting Diabetes UK, have gone to many meetings in my time I might add, travelled many miles both to London and locally, I have not always seen eye to eye with them but I have always put out the word for support for the charity, I have never got on with the area office in Witham, the main reason for that is distance, Peterborough is a long long way away, so there I  was receiving an email from the charity mentioning that they wanted a Diabetes Champion for the PCT in Peterborough, so as I already work with the PCT, work with the hospital on diabetes management, I am known in the city as a supporter of Diabetes UK I applied, so what happens? I am turned down because I would have to work closely with the area office, so they said sorry NO, I have worked so hard to bring Diabetes to the attention of the general public for many years done TV and radio interviews but to no avail, but I will not  go away!!!!.

Tax Avoidance.

Well knock me down with a feather, so some people are sending their income abroad and then receive it back as a loan, this is to avoid Tax, is this really News?, it has been a racing certainty that this sort of avoidance has  been going on for so long it is a joke, how does the PM think these people get away with it, first thing get a good accountant who is fully versed in Tax Law and off you go, a good one will have the Tax man owing you money, the sick thing is that ordinary worker is taken to the cleaners by PAYE, sad but true, so if you are a worker you will pay your dues come what may, if you have a large pay packet and can afford a accountant you will beat the Tax Man every time, look at Ken Dodd, there are many more, not me I am afraid I am still paying PAYE at 66.

NHS

Well it has not taken long for me to get back to the hard things in life, the NHS, I can say for certain that staff at hospitals are in flux they are not sure if they will have a job in the very near future, so is it not understandable that the service is slipping, the management side is shrinking  very quickly, I am not saying that some of these people needed to go but it is getting very close to free fall, it is not on to cut front line staff, nurses are leaving, I know several have moved to Australia, so where does that leave us left behind, in the poo, this government has got it wrong with the NHS, who says it would be better for GP's to commission services?, the idea that the public would have a bigger say in the services they receive is living in cloud cookoo land, it is not happening and will not happen, reality is that we will still have people  who will decide what is best for us with no thought as to the general public's perception as to what is needed, I should say I am not a member of the NHS.

Football

It really hurts me to watch England, they have looked as if they would be happier going off on holiday than play for England, they do the good talk but then do not play with any energy or commitment to the cause, some very hard work by the defence but the midfield and forwards just have not got the message, the money sloshing about in their bank accounts makes me think that for some reason the fact of pulling on the England jersey has no value to them they just do not seem to have the pride that the old school used to show, we shall see, maybe I am wrong I desperately hope so.

Immigrants

I have now seen it all, today's papers running a story about two brothers both convicted killers who are from Portugal can't  be deported because they are entitled to a family life, the elder has a girlfriend in the UK and a baby by her but does not live with her, they invoked article 8 of the human rights act, is it not time we stopped this silly game of human rights?, shouldn't they be changed with out delay, we can't go on in this manner, if you commit a crime you should be deported back to your country of origin no question.
Then we come to the next one an immigrant is suing the government for 11 million pounds for hardship, he is an immigrant who arrived on a work permit and moved abroad to take up different work and has now appeared back in this country, he is living in a £200,000 house who provided that US, we have to block these silly legal games that are being played, it is all well and good that people come to work in the UK pay taxes and are a benefit to the country, but these free loaders need to be ejected, they have no real right to live here so get them out, we are with out a doubt the best free touch in Europe.

Football Syria

Must be a no news day for me, of course I am aware that the Greeks go to the polls today, no doubt they will vote to end the cuts that they are suffering as we are, but then the football, if anyone tells me that Ronaldo is the greatest footballer in the World I will scream, he is not, he is in fact a cheat, he only has to be touched he is on the floor, and that is his game not quality football, I must say that I am jettingg fed up with it on every evening, I could of course switch it off, but I am now watching because I want to see certain teams loose sad really but there you go.

Now the serious stuff, Syria, still the state killing its own people and then blaming anyone other than themselves, I have said before you do not want  to kill children one reason and one reason only they are the future of that country, the West  can't sit and watch, it is a problem for the UN not a single country, the UN needs to involve troops from as many countries as possible and stop this horror NOW, tomorrow is not soon enough !!!!

Obesity in Childxren

I have said many times that the rise in obesity in children is a  major problem ion this country, children in primary school are obese, why  should that be, there is only one answer I am afraid Child Abuse by the parents, it is the responsibility of the parent to ensure that their children have a balanced diet and take at least some exercise, but what do we have, processed food!, sitting in front of a screen playing computer games, this is a big no no, the big problem is that these children because of their weight are suffering from high blood pressure, and then become open to Diabetes Type 2, this is entirely  preventable, look round you see the children who are grossly over weight, the sad thing is that the parents do not see the problem but a problem there is, the population of parents in this country need to Wake up, take action to protect their children before it is too late, please, please pass this on to your friends they have to accept their responsibility.

Climate Change

I am just thinking how the Green Lobby will jump on this rain, very unusual, but as it turns out nothing to do with climate change at all, it is the jet stream that has for some reason moved south, it will given time revert to its normal flow, I have to ask who is making all this money that is being taken in so called green taxes, who actually gets this money and just what is it used for, many people are now rebelling against the proliferation of wind farms, are they cost effective NO, so why are more being built?, who is pocketing the money?, we have to be subjective regarding power, we have to have an effective way of providing it, even if its nuclear.

Syria & Other matters

It must be getting a bit over powering having to read this rant of a blog, but hear we go again, Syria, the Russians are to provide Syria with attack helicopters, just how irresponsible is this, madness in the extrema, Presidents and Dictators can only keep control of the population is by oppressing them and in this case kill them, the Russians are as bad as anyone else, they oppress the general public, and jail many who will possibly never be seen again, how can Russia say that it is a democracy, the latest election was it seems rigged, it is sad that these people in control think that they can pull the wool over the public's eyes, I have news for them the public is not stupid, they understand when something is rigged, it is mad that then these people can take control and impose their will on the nation, I seem to remember a  name was it not Hitler, we should all be aware.

Crime

Just reading the "I" it seems that over 2010/2011 we had 11,127 foreign nationals in our jails, we as the tax payer are paying  for their upkeep while in jail, why should we pay this?, why not send them back to their country of origin to serve their time at a  cost to their own country rather than at our expense?, but of course you would have to get by the human rights lawyers, and all and sundry who make fortunes  out of these cases, at who's expense why of course ours the tax payer, all human rights  work should be free  of charge to the tax payer, lawyers who are so interested in this work should do it as a free of cost service, their payment to the people for allowing them to milk the system for so long, but you can bet your bottom dollar that they would plead poverty poor people, if you come to this country and commit a criminal act and get a prison sentence for it you should with out a doubt be deported no question.

Judges

It is not before time that the government has told the Judges to deport foreign criminals, why should they get away with it just because they have a right to family life, but so does the victim, they have some say in this, the human rights laws have just gone mad, why should a criminal have full human rights, they have put themselves outside the law, they have committed an offence in a country that has given them a life of freedom, in some cases housing and benefits that they would never get in their country of origin, if you come to this country and commit a criminal offence it should be by by, you are not welcome, this is the real answer it is known that theat some are committing offences such as people trafficking, prostitution drug importation, to name but a few, as an OAP I have had to watch my country be all but destroyed by immigration, I know I live with it daily

Syria / Russia

Well bless me the Russians think that there might just be a problem with the fighting in Syria, but they will not allow any UN or NATO major intervention, my word are they for real, I think that where we are now we just need someone to pull the pin out of a grenade chuck it in to Syria and we will have a massive civil war, maybe this is just what the Russians want so they can go in and do a rebuild and be the saviour, but Mr Putin you are on a looser you can't win, these people are not stupid, they know you are holding up help whatever it might be, it strikes me as funny these leaders can only rule by fear, we got rid of Hitler, now we have so many despots in Africa, countries where free speech costs not money but your life but of course we accept this why??, because of PC, no one in the West dares to say any thing of consequence because the West is frightened that exports to these countries would dwindle, so in reality life = the value that goods might be, some times I feel sorry that I live in this World.

                          

Pakistan / Syria

I find it very hard to understand the murder of the women who were at a family wedding, just because someone said they were dancing with a male, three were taken to a Muslim court, a fourth was taken on an allegation that she assisted the others, it seems for this terrible crime against humanity the only punishment was to be executed, reports say that this was carried out immediately, too late the government have told the iman to send the women if they are still alive to Islamabad, the reply is that they would not be able to go as they would be escorted by men and this is not allowed, they can not fly there as men would be piloting the aircraft, so what a joke this all is, please do not tell me that Islam is love and peace when this sort of brutality by men on women happens, Muslim men need to learn that a woman is equal  and that is a fact so get on with it.

Syria once again it seems that the people murdered a couple of days ago were killed by terrorists, just who are you trying to kid Mr Assad, it was your men now at least have the guts to admit it.

So now we have it the Russians and the Chinese refuse to be part of any intervention in Syria, Assad must be laughing all the way to the Bank, they will not allow any change of authority in the country, so the killing can go on, it is not surprising as Putin is a looser, likes to be seen as the hard man, he has managed to get himself back to the top, how did that happen?, I am a cynic the only way  would have been by bribery, no different then in Russia, then we come to the Chinese, who have I believe one of the worst human rights abuse record on file, so why would they be bothered by the freedom of the people of Syria, they care not that children are dying nor the fight for democracy, all they believe in is oppression of the people who have no rights, no health care and no right to express a view, unlike I have done here.

Syria & Egypt

Well here we are, Egypt one guilty the rest not guilty, how in hell has that happened?, it has to be bent judges there is no other reason or answer it is a joke and a disgrace to justice, then we have Syria, the news tells me that the government did not kill the 100 people last week, it was a gang !!!!, are they mad?, oh I forgot they are, but not only mad but stupid if they think anyone will believe them, the Russians are as bad do not want anyone to interfere, they are worried who just might gain control of the country, the main bet is the Muslim brotherhood !!, so what does it all mean, nothing really the West will sit on its hands and issue verbal threats, but nothing in real terms, I really  do not understand why this is , people are dying, and being maimed, something constructive has to be done before it is too late.
